GAME SETUP The game manual lists 4 levels of complexity, however this guide will only deal with level 1. The physical game comes with a game board, but using the board is not necessary for level 1. GAME SCREEN The game screen is divided into 4 areas: - Ticker (top of screen) scrolls through all 30 stock options and their current values. - News Flash (middle of screen) shows news updates and prime rate fluctuations. - Player Accounts (bottom of screen) - Bar Chart (vertical bar starting from right side of screen) "reflects the over-all market performance during each quarter of a year"). PLAYER ACCOUNTS: There are a total of 8 slots for Player Accounts: Slot 1 is the player's base account and current value: (ACT1 for player 1 account (in gold) and ACT2 for player 2 account (in green)). Each player starts with $100,000 (stock investments do not decrease this value). Slots 2 through 8 are open for other individual stock entries. Each player takes turns investing in up to 7 different stocks (see GAME PLAY). The most a player can invest in any given stock is $99,000. (All stocks will start out at a base value of $50 per share). GAME PLAY - push 'UP' or 'DOWN' on the controller to scroll to an 'open' stock account. (during this procedure, the 'news flash' will not be visible). - enter the 3-letter stock selection (SOL, VEN, etc.), press 'ENTER'. - enter the amount to invest ($100 up to $9900 in $100 increments) press 'ENTER'. - scroll to the next open stock account and repeat until all desired accounts are entered. - the increases and decreases in each stock account will scroll through the ticker. - If the value of a stock has risen, the player can sell the stock to make a profit on the difference. - The profit will be added to the Player's main account. - Selling a stock that has decreased in value will be subtracted from the player's main account. - to sell stock, scroll to desired stock, press the 'ACTION' button. $100 worth of stock will be sold. (holding down the 'ACTION' button will continue to sell the stock in $100 increments until released). "The investor with the greatest net worth at the end of the game wins"
