That must've been me.

Nicely done. Artie never looked so good. Except maybe when he was on a magnet.

Speaking of switches in backwards, I noticed on my Oystron game there's a NTSC/PAL setting that is controlled by one of the switches. But it appears to function the opposite of what the manual claims as I have to set it to what should be PAL mode to stop the picture from flipping. The colors seem to be off compared to screenshots I see online but it works.

Right difficulty B = NTSC, A = PAL. Since Atari ordered the switches wrong (B = Beginner, A = Advanced, but IMO A should be easy and B should be difficult), I suppose Piero made the same mistake.

BTW: I  colors.

Thanks - the comic strip now uses the same art I created for the AA store coupons, which in turn was based on the original Artie comic strip artwork.

So the strips are all actually created in color (as of this episode), then made black and white to keep in with the "newspaper comic" concept.

(The magnets were also based on the same Artie artwork, but much more heavily re-worked.)

Marty (the Intellivision) has also been reworked, and is in full-color as well. So is Darth, but it's a little hard to tell with him.

Would it be possible to get a large version of the set? Last night I got to thinking it would be slick to frame MM online with a woodgrain TV. The display portion of the set would need to be 640x420, though it might work better if I put the game image back down to 320x210.

You're welcome to use it, but it's a very simplified, cartoony TV set.

I tried to resize the TV so the screen was 640x240, but it stretched the TV out too much and made it look squashed.

So, I made the TV big enough so that it could hold a 640x240 image in the middle of the screen.

50% mock-up:

Full-size (quite huge, really):

I also made a 320x210 compatible version:

To go with the "newspaper comic" concept, why not grace us with a Sunday strip? :)

I dunno... then I'd have to copy the same artwork eight times instead of just four.

That's a lot of extra work.

Thanks! I'll get that in place this weekend.

Wow - 1145x800, think I'll go with the smaller set and have an option to go to another page with the larger set.

Cool.

Of course, the RESET and SELECT now look out of place :)

Well, if you wanted to get fancy-schmancy, you could put up a picture of Artie with flippable switches. :)

(Hmmm... the color around the TV is a little off. I'll see if I can fix that.)

Maybe save it as a PNG with alpha?

I'd like that with Artie, but don't know Java. I dropped Mauvila a note about that.

Mauvila wrote back, he said the TV looks really pretty cool.

In regards to Artie, he said there's javascript support that will let me control JStella from the web page. I tried the sample javascript he sent, but it doesn't work. In the message he'd mentioned that he wasn't sure if the latest version posted had the javascript support and that he'd make a new build if I needed it.

Looks like it matches!

Mauvila clarified an issue I had with the javascript, I forgot to include name="jstellamainapplet" in the applet tag, without it the javascript doesn't know what it's supposed to be talking to. The updated page uses javascript buttons for RESET and SELECT instead of the control panel.

He also sent an updated version that supports stereo, but it's not loading the ROM for some reason.

I think I should put Stay Frosty online as well. Once I do that then anybody could nab the ROM and we could have a "Christmas in July" for the HSC

Could you do 2 versions of Artie? One with all the switches up, one with all the switches down, one with MM and one with SF in the cartridge slot? I should be able to cut the image up like I did for the TV(that's sectioned into 4 pieces with a 320x210 hole in the middle).

Here's Artie for the online version of Stella. I had to modify him a little so you could read the switches.

I also made him with/without a cart.
