Huge Bloom County fan. So I've been wracking (racking? wrecking?) my brain trying to understand the Berke Breathed reference. The whole blackout/censored concept is ringing some faint bells but I can't pinpoint where I'm hearing them from. Care to shed a little light?

I can't find the exact strip at the moment, but the punchline was lifted pretty-much directly from a Bloom County strip (including the censored part). I forget who said the line, but I think Opus' response was something like, "Well, I'll pass that right along."

 

I've done this before with a Peanuts strip (again, can't find the original at the moment - if I can dig them up, I'll post them).
