Found In a Barn Loft

This is one of a few flea market finds I got yesterday, a 1924 Radiola Superheterodyne complete with tubes. According to the seller, he found this buried in the upper loft of an old barn locally. This is a piece of radio history as it is one of the first sets to use the superheterodyne circuit and is basically the first portable superheterodyne radio. Yes, it originally had a handle and was considered semi-portable! Of course, you had to remove the batteries and the horn or else get a hernia!

That is a very cool find!

Do you work old radios often? I've always wanted to get the knobs on Great Grandma's fixed, but I have no idea which knobs are 'correct'.

What make and model is you great grandma's radio? There is a chance that knobs can be found for it as there are places making new knobs for certain makes and models.

I have no idea! I've never found a good resource to try and figure it out- I took a couple pictures of it.

I'm really not sure which knobs are original (if any). Dad says the wooden one, Mom says the plastic ones. I'd be happy with a period appropriate set of 4, but I don't know what the manufacture date is, so I'm stuck on that one.

Well, it could be either! If you really want period correct, try wooden ones.
