Initiation

Blogs are the billboards of people's lives. I'm going to give this whole blogging thing a shot, just to see where it leads. Perhaps it will help give me a kickstart back into writing, a passion of mine which tends to get pushed to the side more often than not.

Find...

I may as well add something to the blog since it's already got 10 views!Found a Mitsubishi Luma Video Phone today in a thrift. Looked different so I grabbed it thinking I could ebay it. My brother googled it when I called him about it and discovered it has an Atari background. Kinda cosmic...It's interesting but I don't know how it works.

April 19th, 2005 - Harvest

I found out this evening, (I am about half finished with the dirt) that more than half of the back yard is about 8 inches to a foot above the grade it is supposed to be... Oh well, as long as the town doesn't come by and do any surveying...There is a vacant lot next door, and it is for sale, (even though the neighbour said originally that he never would sell it, because he wanted a "buffer zone" around his home).. if they were to sell it and start working this week, I would be screwed...But

It's getting busier

Things are starting to pick up where I work and I don't know if I'm gonna make it out alive. Having survived two peak periods and about to go into a third peak period, I can safely say that I think I will get by ok. It all depends on if we hire another custodian or not. In regards to my weight loss, it's still continuing. My weight keeps hovering at 248-250lbs now and I think by the end of the week, I'll be down at 245 or less. Got to knock off that extra weight and get down to 200. One of the d

Black helicopters.. no, really!

I live in MOA airspace, and we have alot of wargames going on right now. This afternoon, 5 helicopters flew over my house at about 2,000 feet in V formation. Unable to tell if they were AH-64s as is the norm around here (Apache), or if they were UH-60 BlackHawks. It was an awesome sight, but ruined my lazy afternoon on a day off from work (woke me up) Couldn't get a photo due to the speed they were flying. Common to have a single helicopter fly by, but this is the first time I have ever seen ful

EP X positioning code

Greetings to the 20 readers who visited yesterday. The Expensive Planetarium drawn using 256 8x8 pixel tile sprites, with each sprite having 8 "stars" in a quincunx pattern either on or off. (Actually, there are two sets of tile sprites, odd & even, to make up for the 160 positioning in 320 mode.) The actual star map is 90 rows of 256 tiles (each tile is 1 byte). This makes the starmap effectively 2048x720 pixels (360x180 degrees). On the 7800 tiles are drawn using 5 byte DL entries. Each

My prayer

I love 1 Corinthians.13:2 (NLT): If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I knew all the mysteries of the future and knew everything about everything, but didn't love others, what good would I be? And if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move, without love I would be no good to anybody.Lord, speak through me,showing your love in everything I doHelp me love all people of all types, even if they are my "enemy"help me put other's feelings before my ownhelp me serv

Random thoughts of the day

Hmm. Let's see about today. It was a regular day at work I suppose. I did the usual crap that I do and put up with the usual crap that I was given. Nothing new there. I've decided to jump back into writing prose so I wrote a little "Ode to Facilities" with the names of my co-workers in it. A little jingle if you will about how we're all honest folks, etc. I think I'm going to fill up another book with prose (or songs) about stuff that bugs me. I have a book that has 3 years of material in it. My

UFC 52: Isn't there a rule against that?

OK, you know my addiction to UFC well. You know that I am an amature martial artist who dreams to one day fight in the UFC. You know I am out of my damn mind. ANYHOW, UFC 52 was great for the most part. Georges St-Pierre affirmed my hopes after UFC 50; he is the real deal, an up and coming young force to be reconed with. Sure, he is a little flamboyant after fights, but he is no Tito Ortiz. My main beef with the fight came at the title bout. Chuck Liddell vs Randy Couture. I should state that I

Elysium fun

This really cool photographer snapped these shots of me at Elysium a few weeks ago and took my email address so he could send them to me. It was an awesome night and I had already had a few drinks by the time these were taken.Edit: Threw in a few random pics that I have taken there myself!

OK, I'll say something else

So Albert and I have finally gotten the bulk of the work done on the forums and this lovely blogging mod that he bought. It's been an interesting project, and I have to admit that I am really proud of the end result. Obviously there are still issues with both the skin and the functionality of the forums, but they are minor and can be addressed in a more leisurely fashion now that it's finally gone live! Yay!

Welcome to MMF's blog

Well I thought I'd be one of the first to try out this snazzy new feature. I may even abandon my LiveJournal blog and use this one full time instead. I look forward to posting my wacky zany misadventures for your mirth and amusement.

April 18th, 2005

:!: I have a goal to get 3 dump-truck loads of top soil spread out in the yard over the next few days.... Hi Ho!I wouldn't have to do it by hand, but my mother-in-law pissed off the guy who delivered it and he refused to spread it out with his Bobcat after that... I haven't been involved in good old-fashioned physical labour for many years.. I was a landscaper in the late 80's but I was young and foolish then... oh how the years pass... now I am old and foolish. So it goes.My daughter, who

Expensive Planetarium

The original PDP-1 SpaceWar! had an accurate starfield, termed the Expensive Planetarium. I want to add the same thing to SpaceWar! 7800. So far I've translated the Yale star information into quincunx sampled tile lists. The current annoyance is the X/Y position to DL entry code. It's not hard code, just annoying and tedious, and I don't seem to have the necessary desire & drive.

Fun With Forums

Well, since we went ahead and purchased this blog module for the forum, I should probably write at least one entry! This has been a pretty hectic week for me, because of work, moving AtariAge to a new server, and of course, moving the forum to completely new software. It's this last bit that took the most amount of effort, and is why it didn't happen nearly as quickly as I kept promising over the past year. Why change the forum over to new software? Well, there are several reasons, most of whi

Atari 7800: Crossbow

Another of my older reviews that I apparently never posted here to AtariAge. This was originally posted and still to be found over at Jose Q's Emuviews website, this review is of one of the many games that made me want the Atari 7800 back in the day and is one of the elements related to video games in my life to help create my online alias today. I present to you my original review of the Atari 7800 arcade port of Crossbow!   Title = Crossbow Platform = Atari 7800 ProSystem G

And so it begins...

Many of you have known me for some time. Some of you even know me on a personal level having been a part of or attending my events here in Tulsa known as the Oklahoma Video Game Exhibition or OVGE for short. As such you may also know that I play lots of video games...lots...and lots of video games. I've been playing video games since I was about 4 and figured out how to hook up an old Odyssey 300 that my mother got somehow to our 19inch color magnavox TV back in the late 70s. Since then I was lu
