Game Gear buys

Today I bought 2 games and a lot of 11 cases. The cases turned out to be about $1.25 each, a little more than what I wanted (Why not $1, or, better yet, 50 cents? How much could they possibly be worth?) I figure if I am going to keep buying Game Gear games, I might as well get cases for them. I have decided though to only stick to stuff I'd be interested in. No stupid dime-a-dozen sports titles. Why do companies make those games anyway? Who would actually buy Sports Trivia back when it was first made? And, I bet Game Gear games, if they were like Game Boy games, were about $20-$30 new. Same goes for Madden. Every year they make a new one, tons of people buy them, and then a few years later, there's too many used ones for sale everywhere. Why not stick to making them every other year, so that way there's fewer sports titles on the market? If you type up "Sega Dreamcast Games" on eBay's search bar, you'll see what I mean. NFL 2k, NBA 2k1, etc. etc. I guess I'm more of a watcher of sports than a player of them.
