Nightmare Nemesis update
I should really work on this more frequently. I last did it a month ago. There's only so many weird background pictures and videos. Perhaps I should hold a contest for this as well. Right now I'm about 25% done. (4:30 out of a possible 16 minutes), but it's more than 25%, since the last few minutes will be the credits. It takes about 30 minutes for each 30 seconds of footage inserting enemies, the corner thing, positioning the target on the enemy, and repeat. Here's what I do explained further for those who care.
1. Place enemy on screen wherever I want it to appear.
2. Place corner white and black sensor thingys on the video.
3. Place white and black target on enemy. This takes a few tries to get right. Luckily, said tries don't take very long.
4. Select corner and targets
5. Copy them about 10 times.
6. Select all copies that I just copied and put them on for one frame to get the blinking effect.
7. Make the enemy appear on screen only when the copies are blinking.
8. Put a black corner sensor thing on until the next enemy comes along.
I use Pinnacle Studio 16 to do all this. And each background event is taking about 30 seconds, so I work on them in 30-second chunks that takes about 30 minutes to do one chunk. I am going to do 11 minutes or so worth, then the boss fight is going to last about 45 seconds, and then the strange music I recorded will end and I'll work on the alien animation explaining that the Nightmare Nemesis has been defeated. I figure if I keep going at the current rate, i'd be done by the holidays, but I really want to get it done sooner than that, which is why I said I should work on this more frequently.
