Tonight (Sept. 3, 2024) I'll be doing an Atari BASIC live coding stream! I'm by no means an expert at BASIC - in fact I'm quite rusty - but I thought it would be fun to do a live session of modifying an old BASIC favorite of mine (which was shown on a few of my former streams recently)...Gambler!

I had a lot of fun modifying the BASIC game Gambler in this live coding session. I'll have to continue it another time! The main feature I added was the option for players to spend $20 to buy special horse feed that makes their horse go faster in a horse race. (I'll leave it to the player's imagination what is actually IN said horse feed!) I still have to draw the "speed lines" and tweak the balance of the speed a little bit. Perhaps make a "pew!" kind of sound when the extra speed kicks in. Fun stuff
