Minigame Mayhem continued
So I worked on Minigame Mayhem some more. It's my collection of minigames for the Virtual Boy. I need one more game to call it complete. Someone suggested the old Game & Watch game Fire, so I am going to attempt to do that. I worked on the background and I added in the rescuers. This is what it looks like so far.
I decided to design the guys similar to the G&W art because I can't draw very good and it was easier. My game passed the 512kb mark, which makes me sad because a.) I thought it would fit in 512kb, and b.) I need to waste a TON of space to make it compile now. It says it's 1,024KB, but it's actually only about 530KB, so I'm wasting a little bit less than half the size of the game. I am also perplexed on how to make the guys fall down movement. I think I'll have to mimic the G&W and make it tick down and up movements. At least I fixed the stupid menu problem I had. The display was weird and shaky on a real Virtual Boy. I don't know how I fixed it. All I did was move some world data out of the main loop.
