Definitely an improvement!

I think it looks good although it would be nice if the gradient didn't switch in mid "brick". The gradients imply brick borders so the color shift should occur right on the brick pattern outline.

I like the texture, but I agree with mos6507 that the top edge of the bricks could look better. I actually quite like the effect you get with T1 = %10101010 and T2 = %00000000, or perhaps it would be possible to shift the pattern down by 1 line?
