walk robot walk

Robot animation frames are in place. They have thrown off the wall avoidance routines though, so no need to let me know that the robots are walking into walls more frequently than they should!

Also no need to let me know the Frenzy variation doesn't look right! That's because the Tank robots aren't in place yet.

Speaking of Tanks, which do you prefer?

Traditional Tank

Scorpion Tank

Both Tanks look cool. The main tradeoff is the Scorpion tank will take more space to hold it's animation frames.

This will be the last update for a while. I've decided to revamp the way the banks are split up and it'll take a bit of time to do it. Currently it's done like this:

0 = ARM

1 = ARM

2 = ARM

3 = ARM

4 = 6507 - Menu kernel

5 = 6507 - Game kernel

6 = Display Data

The ARM sees the whole thing as one contiguous space, the 6507 sees it in 4K chunks (with the exception of bank 6 which it can only access via the DPC+ routines). The speech samples are currently at the end of the ARM code, and the graphics are in banks 4, 5 and 6.

I realized the Menu and Game kernels aren't really taking up that much room, and that they could easily be both in bank 5. That'll save on some code duplication as well. I'll then make bank 4 part of the ARM space and set it up so the graphics are stored there after the speech samples.

0 = ARM

1 = ARM

2 = ARM

3 = ARM

4 = ARM

5 = 6507 - Menu & Game kernels

6 = Display Data
