Is there anyone in Southwest Florida dying to play some multiplayer 2600, 5200, and 7800 on original hardware, and available for meetups? I've found that it's very difficult to get people to even TRY old Atari games these days because the skill set required to play retro games is so different from that of modern gamers. For example, my 8 year old brother can beat Ganon in Breath of the Wild with janky armor and few hearts, and he can practically take down a golden lynel with his eyes closed, but he rage quits on the easiest levels of the simplest Atari games. He gets blown away and loses interest fast in any competitive games as well. My wife has also beaten Legend of Zelda: BotW and is of the same mindset. I believe it takes an old school gamer with a certain old school skill set to appreciate the smooth clarity and polish of lightning fast Atari action. I'm hoping that we might be able to get a group together in the Ft. Myers/Naples area to experience the excitement of the greatest generation of home video games. -
