New Additions to the Collection Today (not the controllers though).  Finally I can see what the buzz is about with the Indy 500 driving controllers. Kinda' wish Atari had made more games that use these.  A Monster Truck title using those would be rad.

    • It’s kind of sad new tech doesn’t come with that unforgettable “I’ve-just-opened-something-amazing” aroma anymore. Now it’s more like a faint whiff of cardboard and disappointment.
    • Welcome to the dark arts of Atari tape drives. You’ve crossed over into the realm of the 1010, where every program load feels like a seance and success depends on mysterious powers (and probably the alignment of the planets). You thought you were getting a “free” tape player, but really, you were given a test of patience worthy of an ancient monk.
    • And maybe he can take that time to find a new name for this convention, even though it seems sometimes I'm the only one to find it very awkward. 😅
    • I think the problem with SuperSEGA, Amico, and every similar venture was nailed by someone in the comments (iirc) of a SuperSEGA video: it's as if someone promised to build a time machine, even it's not possible, just by claiming it would be cool if it existed. These projects are fed on delusional hope. And that's exactly how doubters are treated; they're called haters because they sound like they don't think it would be cool if the system existed, while they're just claiming it's not feasible. Well, in the case of the Amico, a lot of "haters" didn't find the concept of the Amico very good to begin with (I liked some of its aspects personally), but you catch my drift.
    • I found a workaround to help speed up the loading from cassette, come home from school start a game loading, wait a few seconds so that I was happy with loading tone so I was confident it was not going to error out and then go get dinner😁. From memory, the longest loading cassette game I had was Americana Strip Poker which was the best part of 30 minutes.
    • Could be Stella. But maybe gopher2600 too.
    • Hey all, at the risk of spoiling the fun...     ...unfortunately there isn't a special message for a royal flush (this has been confirmed by inspecting the code).   To be clear this video is tool assisted, not a result of regular play.  If you want to try this for yourself, download this JzIntv script: lvpb.txt and run it in JzIntv as follows:   jzintv.exe -z1 -d --script=lvpb.txt lasVegasPokerAndBlackjack.bin   In both the 1978 and 1979 version of the game, Player 1 will get a royal flush in the first hand of one or two player 5 card stud played.  The way this works is that the script waits until the shuffle is complete.  Then it replaces the top 24 cards with a stacked deck.   This approach also works for 7 card stud, but it appears to expose a bug in the assessment of a straight flush, as the hand is only evaluated as a regular flush:     To have the 7 card stud hand identified as a straight flush it seems it's sometimes necessary to get a six card straight. This can be done by replacing the second number on line 19 of the script with 0020:     Wierdly this doesn't seem to be true for some other straight flushes:
