    • I know what most people are going to reply to this and say —- “yea, sounds like a great idea, do it!!!” - unfortunately, while I probably have the dev/design skills to do what I am about to suggest, I do not have the TIME to do it.    There are LOADS of threads on this forum and others that concentrate on “lists” - some examples: “atari 7800 RPG games”, “Atari 8 bit bbs software”, “crack screens for atari games”, and even just software images (atr’s and the like), that have multiple verticals, or “cross references”.. This type of illustration of relationships is really kind of impossible to do on a forum unless you were to write a custom php/db module for whatever forum software this is (Invision Board?), but IS relatively easily done (just takes a lot of time) by using multiple tables with a UI that links all of it together.   For instance, I search for “Galahad and the Holy Grail”, one of my favorite games of all time, and not only am I directed to the downloadable image - or links to where I CAN download it, but I am also able to click on the author and see what other games he created, the company, to see what other games they created, a “mini forum” where people leave comments only on the topic of that particular piece of software, a rating system… Same thing with crack screens, same thing with Atari BBS’s back in the day (cross referenced to bbs software, which leads also to all bbs’s that were known to run that software), etc…   Again, CSDB and also Pouet are two sites that already have this framework in place. Since the guys from Pouet are Atari ST freaks, they might even be willing to share their system with the requirement that the UI is totally revamped to reflect our community so theirs remains unique..    And perhaps all of this is moot because some such animal already exists - but I‘ve spent an awful lot of time googling for atari stuff, and have never stumbled across anything like it for the atari 8 bit —- and if that does end up being the case, please forgive my ignorance.    .ap
    • Awesome!  Please don’t hate me @artrag but we have more than 5k of space. I neglected to subtract the messy mode 2 screen that’s currently in the game as a placeholder when reporting available space in the rom. So total available overhead is closer to 9 or 10 KB? 😬 I’ll have to remove that screen to get you a better estimate, but it’s 5k PLUS about 4.5K (the space the placeholder takes up).
    • A great 'Mario' style platformer for the Neo-Geo. I play this one a lot..
    • Mainly colour palette/speed. Also the pause feature on the PAL version does not work on the 2600+. It was confirmed that the code was removed for Stella, for some reason..
    • Sorry so late mentioning this, but I have an extra Kabobber patch that I don't mind to send to the high scorer on that particular game. Again, if the high scorer is outside the USA...you'd have to help with shipping, lol, I'm a nice Guy, but I ain't exactly rich.

    • Nobody asked me, but I will also make another comment.. Curious if there is anyone who agrees with me…   As far as the player representation.. While people are doing things with the 7800 and all atari 8 bits really, that would have never been DREAMED of during these systems sales lifetimes, I actually really prefer a simple player representation. Reason being? It seems like when people try to create a player “avatar”, for lack of a better word - it makes it seem cartoonish - like some of the japanese only games you see where everything looks like a comic book - sonic the hedgehog comes to mind.  In the spirit of remembering the roots of the console and the original games, I prefer a simple block (ala adventure), or perhaps a simple sword or something. using a “face”, or a “body” with moving arms, legs, etc just always makes games look like an 8 year old should be playing them - rather than an adult - which most atari users are now..   The first person “doom” type POV is okay too - but again, I like top view games…..   regardless of my critiques, thank you for all of the devs out there who continue to put out amazing stuff for atari computers and consoles. its a labor of love, and not anything one will ever be in the green financial wise if total time to develop is taken into consideration (cognitive/physically coding it) and I really love the spirit of that.
    • Yeh, I agree with you. Lately I've been preferring the CX-78 for side-scrolling shooters and racing games. Mostly games where directional force isn't needed as much.
