    • Great version of a great Namco classic. I love the original, even its Famicom port. Bob, you're one of the best, a legend among legends. Been your fan since Go Fish, which may probably still be my favorite homebrew ever. I'm anxiously looking forward to seeing this one finished! The only thing that bothers me, though, is the quite misleading Minotaur title on the titlescreen (is it a nod to the M-1?). As for the rest, the graphics, the gameplay, the sounds, the controls, everything is top notch. Thank you so much for never giving up on the VCS!
    • Well, it's mathematically impossible for me to get to 14th or 15th place.  But I am still playing Lady Bug.  It's fun.
    • There are certain words, some political, that will flag a post for moderation.  Your use of the word "trump" triggered it. It has nothing to do with Atari.  edit: I just had to approve this post.  
    • I have done a few experiments with Dig Dug, Aardvark and 6502.ts. Double access to a SC write location is *extremely* common --- it happens on pretty much every indexed absolute access. The answer is what I described above, but I made a mistake: it doesn't require the offset to be zero, but any offset that does not cross a page boundary will do!   Dig Dig is full of such accesses, the first happening on 0x1110 in bank 3. I guess many other games use indexed absolute addressing for the SC RAM as well. As we cannot guarantee short cycle times due to the scheduler (even with rtstella, which is not what is currently in @Al_Nafuur's git), this will fail with the Kroko, and maybe also with real hardware, depending on when it latches the value into RAM. I don't see why the Uno/Plus should care, though.    This could be worked around in software by labelling memory accesses as irrelevant or relevant. The cart code could batch up consecutive irrelevant reads to the same address in ROM space (emulation can continue as the result is irrelevant) and only play out the last access. This is a slight departure from exact emulation, but I can't see how it would cause any fallout.
    • All of those tape drives simply need TLC, new belts are in expensive. cleaning, lubing cost is practically nothing, torn wires should not occur ever, that sounds like the chew was not removed carefully or went unnoticed for quite a while somehow. With the cassette not rewind and such, you shouldn't have been running it as that indicates the belts are at issue. Never having seen wire torn off in that manner before, I'd bet a soldering iron, some solder will remedy that situation handily as these are from the age of full sized components. All is not lost. Fix all 3 at once as it will cost the least per datasette that way.
    • I would have thought that with no power supply and it's unusual connectors and voltage requirements, untested, not worth a lot, maybe to someone who wants to try build a PSU for it, but as it is hardly worth the shipping costs.
    • It is, of course, perfectly possible to produce a "basic" FPGA Pokey. But it is not economically. It won't really be much cheap that Pokeymax unless you produce it in high quantities. And a cheap product, again, unless you can sell it in high volume, is not a very interesting or attractive product to market.
    • P.S. are you planning also to update all the rest of the artwork?  If not, the clashing styles between the cartoony box cover and the spooky overlay is more than a bit distracting.   Both are very good, for sure; but I suggest you pick a style and make it consistent.       dZ.
