    • Amico is competing with all those, plus board games and outdoor cornhole. But if you want to compare Intellivision to other small companies, Blaze, Valve, Panic, Analogue, and (the zombie corpse wearing the skin of) Atari all managed to bring out the hardware they said they’d finish.    Being a small company doesn’t necessarily have to end with incompetence and failure.
    • No problem. I kind of suspected this, but anything is possible when code changes. I believe it's the Concerto with the noise too. I do not have it on my Concerto (older firmware), Dragonfly, nor is it present on a versa cart (burnt EPROM). My uneducated guess is that the noise is caused by whatever was causing the graphic distortion. I will explain why I think this below. I agree that this seems to be a Concerto issue. I believe the distortion is similar to the graphic distortion seen previously. My theory is that there are two HUGE banners being plotted on the title screen. There is the PentaGo/Pengo banner. There is also a giant blackout sprite of the same size. It is covering the banner until sno-bees push it off of the banner. It seems there may be a connection that the noise goes away when only one banner is plotted in the same zone that previously had graphic artifacts. Just a thought. (As for regular game play, there are a lot of things plotted!)   I sent Fred a private message about Pengo a few weeks ago, but I have not heard back. I thought about posting something in the Concerto firmware forum, in case he didn't see my pm, but I do not want to sound like a nag if he ignored me for a reason. I also didn't want to "hijack" his thread for MY game. If it was just a random game that I noticed issues with, I would probably mention it in the forum, but I feel weird since it's MY game. If either of you want to mention or share PentaGo in the forum feedback, please feel free to. Since my current Concerto firmware seems to play all of the games I want to play flawlessly, I haven't wanted to rock the boat. I will wait for a stable release.   Thank you both for sharing. I hope a solution is in the near future!
    • Also it may sound obvious, but the eShop has a demo section so I would go there first to download as many of them as I can (provided you got a micro SD card first - 128 or 256GB is enough and should be now affordable). 😉   Unfortunately, Nintendo doesn't offer a lot of demos for their own stuff, unless it's for their online games and they're usually limited in time. But demos allowed me to realize games like Klonoa or Valkyria Chronicles 4, which I seriously considered, were in fact not for me. 😅   The only game I tend to recommend all the time is Huntdown and usually people thank me for doing so, but it's obviously not for everyone.
    • @Shift838 I forgot to include the HRD4000B card in my setup.  Will there be any issue with its extended length?   Beery

    • I concur with @digdugnate’s list — I’m on his Nintendo friends list and he really knows his stuff.    I’m far more casual and I love dabbling in retro and arcade games from the eshop. The only physical game I own is Ring Fit Adventures, because that’s the only way to buy it. The eshop is full of mobile and PC ports which for me is wonderful. Get a big MicroSD card if you’re going to download games.    You might be happy enough with Mario/Zelda/Animal Crossing which are all long, deep games that everyone loves.    Use the Wish List and/or DekuDeals because everything except Nintendo games go on sale a LOT. For example, right now, Horizon Chase is on sale for $5 (from $20) and is awesome.   Pro Controller is great. Also consider a Satisfye grip for handheld mode, it makes it much more ergonomic.    Which membership? The basic gives you cloud saves (a must have IMHO), and a big rack of NES/SNES games. The “expansion pack” adds Genesis/N64 and some DLC for Animal Crossing and Mario Kart. Since you’re coming at this cold, the standard plan is probably plenty.     Not sure I’d try to take on 3 giant games (Mario/Zelda/AC) at the same time but different people like different things.

    • He's getting close !   Did have a table to post the other day but forum wasn't mended enuf!  Please vote everyone for the next round:   New forum doesn't show how many people have voted 😦
    • I experience the above behavior as well, but this is different than the POKEY audio distortion being heard with the background music in-game during the rounds.    Both of the aforementioned audio items may only be Concerto specific though, as it is not experienced for me under the A7800 emulator or MiSTer FPGA.  I do not believe anyone has posted experiencing such issues with the DragonFly either.   Also both items - low persistent background buzz under a few screens, and in-game background music distortion, can be heard in the mp3 posted.
    • If that's Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo, you can't compare their marketing budgets with Intellivision Entertainment, obviously they have to do it differently.
