I just learned that Lemmy Kilmisters favorite arcade game was Tempest.  He loved it so much that when he was diagnosed as terminally ill, the bar owner where Lemmy always played the game brought it to Lemmys apartment.  So I ask you, who'd win in a wrestling match, Lemmy or God?
      1. atari2600land

Sammy Davis Jr.'s favorite arcade game was Pac-Man.
      2. John Stamos Mullet

Lemmy is a god. This is fantastic.

so I've got a bad 7800 partially working, bad transistor was causing a short and powering on the video circuitry, now I just need  to figure out why it only works in 2600 mode (hopefully not a bad maria)
      1. Neon Wraith

If Maria is bad you should just spank her.
    • Jess Ragan

Anyone know what a Game Gear does when you turn it on without a cartridge?
      1. Jess Ragan

Never mind! Found the answer with a search. It doesn't do anything without a cart, so I'll need one.
      2. shane857

It plays Sonic the Hedgehog, Hang On and snail maze. safari hunt and alex kidd in miracle world, like on the sega master system console revisions. (If only)
You really can't do any sort of effective testing beyond a simple power-on test without a game.

    • I fortunately haven't had any input drops with the 8BitDo line, though I did have one weird issue with the M30 2.4g, where it would randomly disconnect or shut off (or maybe enter power saving mode?) after only less than a minute of inactivity.  It made playing RPGs annoying, since I often pause the game to draw maps, etc.  A really weird issue.   I forgot all about their PCE controller!  I have that one, too, and it works absolutely fine for me.  I think it feels and plays pretty authentic, honestly.   If you liked the responsiveness of the RetroUSB controller but hated the form factor, I think you'd really like the aftermarket shell.  It improves the controller a lot imo.  The RetroUSB is not my primary controller, but it's a good secondary (especially with the new shell), and I actually prefer its clicky microswitch dpad for RPGs and strategy games!
    • Thanks, very helpful. Can you get screenshots of the 256 color palette and GR.0 screen? I'm particularly interested in how your computer's palette matches to others I've seen and how bluish or greenish the GR.0 screen is.   One thing that's odd is that it looks like the APAC title screen has a color clock offset between GR.9 and GR.11. That usually only occurs when GR.10 is involved.
    • They never come up for sale, pm me
    • I picked that lot up. I'll be posting the dumps as soon as it arrives.
    • This is unmitigated bullshit.  Yes, CrowdStrike Falcon puts its files in system32, but, from what I understand, that had nothing to do with this outage.  It was a buggy driver as part of Falcon EDR, which had been buggy for a while, and a badly-formatted "channel" file, which consists of IoC signatures, which caused that driver to fail.  Falcon runs essentially as a rootkit, which is required for the protection of the operating system (it has to run in Ring 0,) and becomes a critical part of the operating system.  When the driver crashed, it took down the entire OS.   This has absolutely nothing to do with writing files to system32.  Now, it had to be completely ignorant or vindicated EU politicians who wrote a law which requires this, stipulating it is true in the first place.
    • Here's an update on the "Psygnosis Amiga". I call it this because it came from the loft of an ex Psygnosis programmer. I had purchased this months before my childhood Amiga came into my life. I probably would not have purchased it if the childhood Amiga came earlier to be honest, but I'm glad to have it. It's super clean and was actually factory sealed when I had received it. But, a key on the keyboard was broken hence I had to break the seal in order to repair it.   Anyway, this board is a Rev 5, which is not nearly as easy to get expanded with additional chip memory or even KS 3.1. But, I did it without any motherboard modifications with the right parts   Parts list:   1. ACE2B from Individual computers 2. TerribleFire TF536 3. GGLabs custom flashed Kickstart 3.1 ROM (customized to work in Rev 5 boards with no modification) 4. Tinkerboy DF0/DF1 floppy switcher (in order to use a Gotek externally)   The machine now boasts a 68030 running at 50MHz, 64MB of Fast RAM, 2MB of Chip RAM, a 32GB CF card divided into four partitions with everything you can imagine, and a completely switchless way of swapping DF0: and DF1: with BOTH usable at once by holding CRTL-Amiga-Amiga for four seconds...and it remembers the setting until you change it again. Still think that is the best switcher ever made.   The only thing it is lacking is a clock battery. I can add a RAM board with a clock battery and the system will use the clock (but not the RAM). But that means I have to buy one and I am broke now   As zero hardware modifications were performed on this system to get it to this state (which I find amazing) it can easily to brought right back to stock.
    • Sold another 3, so I am down to 2 left. Thanks so much to everyone who has purchased one so far!

    • The Crater Creature   The crater creature, a type of carnivorous space plant that did not appear in the original version for the Atari 2600, here in the exercise of imagination we have a glimpse of what this creature could have looked like if it had been ported at the time, it probably would have A single color was adopted to define it in the crater.   In this POC update we have the false sensation of movement of the lunar sandy terrain. The challenge now is to make the tops of the mountains move too. Buggy jumping has not yet been implemented. I even made a few attempts at jumping the buggy, but the results weren't good.
