Alestorm is coming to my city, and I have tickets!  Thanks to either @save2600 or @GoldLeader, don't remember which one of your posts/comments introduced me to them about 6 years ago.
      1. GoldLeader

WOOHOO!!! That's Awesome!   I used to mention them quite a bit.
      2. GoldLeader

And Elvenking is opening!  I like them too! (YMMV)  Looks like the closest they are coming to me would be Omaha, NE but that's an 8 hour drive if memory serves (We did do that once for a concert...)...These days,  I'm making sure I have the energy to drive down to Denver Sunday to see my friends' bands play.  And that's only 2 hours away
      3. DragonGrafx-16

@GoldLeader Only a 4 hour drive for me but... I got no money lol

Have had a blast testing AI image generators. Yes, they must generally be spoonfed, but its often when the intelligence just isn’t there, that the most funny pictures are created!

My favorite part of tomb raider 1, archeologist sees a t-rex and instead of being in awe, immediately shoots it to death.
      1. Jess Ragan

Awe-inspiring as it may be, a T-Rex does eat meat... and you're meat.
    • GoldLeader

You ever look at your collection and think:  Am I missing a Super Nintendo?  No,  wait it's in that box.  What about that NES?  Is that the blinking light problem child or was it the other one, and which was my Original NES? Oh right the one with the tape on it,...Now how many Genesises do I have?  Wait,  was I counting the ATGames one?...Now should I put all Analogue consoles in the same spot or...
I know,  I know...First World problems!  But,  I definitely care about the world and its problems, and hope for peace, ending hunger, curing cancer, saving the environment etc.,...
Separately,  when I think back to some of the crap jobs I had...And how I was treated as an employee at various times...Maybe I should be Allowed to enjoy some First World Problems!  Maybe I've earned it...

Me trying to match up power transformers:

      3. GoldLeader

So true!  A long time ago I decided to keep power supplies with consoles, but also to write on the adapters in Silver or Gold Sharpie,

The thing I run into now is opening a box and thinking "I don't remember buying this, where the hell did this come from?"
I need to improve my inventory system.
      6. GoldLeader

@thanatos That happened to me too!  About 3-4 years ago I was gonna throw out some boxes I thought were empty.  I heard something rattling and looked inside finding Dragon's Lair for Game Boy Color!  I didn't have a specific memory of buying it,  but did have an overall memory of my Dragon's Lair kick where I was buying lots of versions of that game, hoping to find one that was playable...Given up on that dream I can tell you! haha!  Though I like it for SNES where it's just a game...And Coleco ADAM had the right idea, but not quite,  (it should have been more playable)...

    • Absolutely. Usually, that kind of venture starts with a prototype built in a garage THEN creating the company to sell it.
    • I only played Rebelstar I got for my Pocket since I'm a huge fan of Julian Gollop's games, but I stopped playing after a while because some missions are really hard. 😩
    • Not sure why that would be an issue, surely any sane person would take the time to remove the case when prepping and painting it, not work on it while fully assembled.
    • Ok, today i will testing save to device N: with 6000 baud speed with JOY port, and without port and will see if it loads. (sorry for my poor english)
    • If you want a 2600 with HDMI why not just get at 2600+, it would be a lot easier and probably cheaper than having a new case made and messing around with adding it yourself.   If you could create a 3D model of the case for printing you would probably need to go to a fab house like Protolabs to get it printed, home printers will likely be to small and can suffer from shrinkage issue on larger plots. For a really good finish LASER sinter printing would probably be better but more expensive. If not LASER sintered then you really need to use ABS rather than PLA, it is a proper engineering material that most off the shelf plastic enclosures are made of it is more flexible the PLA and so better for drilling and screwing into.   As for more space inside the case, I am not sure how much space there is off hand but you seem to be thinking horizontally, perhaps there is room vertically to stack an extra PCB inside.

    • Currently, hardware makers don't try to increase the number of polygons indeed, but work on a lot of techniques, using AI for instance, to improve resolution (since 4K content takes too much space) and framerate. That's where the Switch 2 could actually shine, benefiting from techniques that were not necessarily ready yet for the Xbox Series X and PS5. Coupled with the art direction of Nintendo games, it could have very pretty games even compared to more powerful systems.

    • To be honest, the description is not straightforward enough, and it is not because of my rusty Slovak.   From the schematic and textual description, I understand that when reading, the amplified and shaped signal goes to the pin 1 of the 2nd joystick port. So, somewhere in the code, I would expect LDA PORTA, AND #$10 to determine if the pin reads 0 or 1 (Joystick UP). Either in mainline code, or in some interrupt handler.   For writing, the textual description indicates that pin 2 of the 2nd joystick port is connected to the PCB. So I would expect LDA #$20 STA PORTA sequence to be present somewhere, and the direction control set to output for pin 2.
