Today I went to the Doctor,  The lady behind the counter said she'd call me if there were any questions.  Then the questions began appearing on my phone, except they wanted me to put in a code, after looking at the code, I went back and it reset, then sent me a new code (NOPE!)...So I put down the phone and picked up my Hyper Mega Tech Taito Edition Super Pocket and started happily playing VOLFIED til my name was called.  They didn't need all that shit anyway...

If you ever need one on a weekend,  try Googling "urgent care Salem OR".  They're usually clinics, not General Practitioners...

      6. GoldLeader

It's been a while,  but when I think of a Doctor's Office,   I think of comfy chairs, Highlights magazines, Free Coffee, and carpeting on the floor,  Oh,  and you know which Doctor you're gonna see...When I think of an Urgent Care Clinic,  I picture basic chairs, and more of them,  Family Feud on the TV (Or something about restoring houses), Wood or tiled floor,  and you don't know which Doctor you're gonna get...Other than that,  They're roughly similar

Yesterday I found out my Track and Field machine from 1991 is still working just fine after being untouched in storage for years. CRT picture was scrolling at first but it stopped. God I love this game too bad it weighs as much as a fridgerator packed full of lead

        Thassa good one.
I have a 2 player Super Off Road, def. a good one if you only got a few, but T&F...
        I'd hurt myself.

(I actually play for high scores, W/R's, and fast tapping is my forte.)
Well, Hell, now that I'm here!
I was at Player's Choice Arcade, in Myrtle Beach, couple of years ago. Was actually trying to get in shape for a crappy 200k Donkey Kong run, for "overall points", where I score(didn't actually happen, BTW).
Anyway, while I was practicing some, two different times people came up to the T&F machine beside me, and were "doing it wrong", lol.
One was a Dad and a teen, other was a couple college age students.
I walked away from my games, caught them between events, and showed them how to "run with your fingerS" on the buttons, and went back to my game, they would yell about how fast they were going, and far they were jumping, etc, etc.
        I was proud!

      2. dudeguy

yeah I dont consider myself good at T&F by any stretch of the imagination. When the high scores flashed, it looked like the highest I got was 57k or so. The only world record I achieved was on Hammer Throw, somehow I got 1st place. I think I got lucky with the timing more than anything because I really could never hammer the button very fast.

Any pictures of it? That's pretty sweet... it's hands-down one of my wife's favorite games.

    • The Harmony cart on the 2600+ should able to run demos and smaller hacked games like these:
    • Here are my times for this past week (November 27th through December 3rd, 2023):   Arcade: Arabian - 96 min. in 3 sessions Block Hole - 20 min.   MSX: Moonsweeper - 18 min.   This week, my main game was "Arabian" which I remembered from a previous session, and this time I played it until I managed to get through all 4 screens after which the screens repeat with harder difficulty. Today, I set out to do the same thing again, and strangely, it took me longer to achieve that than the previous sessions of this week combined. What I noticed about this game are different levels of transparency... you can notice the "Kangaroo effect" in some places, especially with the flying carpets. As far as I can see in the MAME driver, it used bitmapped graphics as well as sprites, so the carpets may be software sprites because they run out of hardware sprites to use which would explain their limited transparency.   A new game in the "A-Z" series was Block Hole, I think by Konami, which I remember having played back in the day in the arcade as well.   Finally, I played the MSX version of Moonsweeper. I chose this version because it's the only version of this game available on Retrogames.cc. It looks and feels very much like the TI-99/4A version, but runs at a higher framerate because the MSX systems have a faster processor.
    • I picked up an PS/2 adapter for my Atari 10STF. I'm not having luck remembering / finding ones that are in-stock but I essentially just picked up a Wyse PS/2 optical mouse and was able to use that just fine.   I tried mine with USB mice but sadly they never seemed to power up. I know there are options that will power a USB mouse but I didn't have the patience to seek them out.   Good luck in your search!
    • Also I don't have a Retron so I'm not entirely certain of it's intricacies. Prior to buying a 2600+ for my dad I mainly just used Stella, MAME, or the compilations on Windows and Switch to play Atari games since I know the community, Code Mystics, and DE know what they're doing. Super active and versed in the emulation scene for Windows, Android, and modded consoles, but dedicated hardware is a bit new to me. Kind of makes me glad the 2600+ uses Stella honestly, because at least I know how that works, even if it's set to operate as a rom-dump rather than it's typical GUI.
    • Atari might offer a release of 7800 version of Fatal Run. I hope they offer a standard edition that’s won’t kill your wallet.
    • If you want to play Atari carts, the Analogue Pocket with the Lynx adapter will do.   Atari already can't secure exclusives for its VCS, so I really don't see how it could get exclusives AND third-party exclusives for a handheld. 🙄
    • Hi! I found this forum while searching solutions for my Lynx II issue and it's been really informative!   I came into the forum with complete ignorance and I've picked up some great information about the system. Let me tell you my story:   I bought a Lynx II for cheap about a year and a half ago, tested it and stored it for some time. A couple of days ago I picked it up to play for a while and to my dismay I saw that even though the text on the Retro HQ and Kung Food was clean, the rest of the image was all scrambled! I cleaned up the contacts on the cartridges and on the console but it's still the same.   I did peruse the forum and saw that everyone recommended changing the MOSFET (still have to read about what this is), changing the capacitors, replacing the LCD screen or replacing the Suzy and Mikey. I understand this would be the order in which to check everything, right? I'm not particularly skilled at soldering and using a oscillometer oscibut I can get some help with that. This is very hard for me since I'm in Argentina and getting anything videogame related delivered here comes with great cost but I do want to get my console to work.   If anyone has a recommended place to start for figuring out how to get my console working, I'll really appreciate it!   Here's some videos and photos of how the console is working right now. 20231130_190951.mp4 20231130_193409~2.mp4
