Unpopular and Controversial Opinions, Volume 12:
-I'm still surprised that Microsoft would upload the source codes to MS-DOS 1 & 2.
-If companies were serious about Girl games, Koei should have brought Angelique Duet DS stateside.
-Epic Games should make a proper sequel to Unreal 2.
-I think Naz Edwards got a bad rap for DiC's Sailor Moon dub. (Ditto for Jill Frappier.)
-Jack Black's take on Bowser was surprisingly good, almost like an in-between Eric Newsome (Super Mario Sunshine) and Harvey Atkin (The SMB Super Show); Seth Rogen's take on Donkey Kong was boring and unfitting. (I liked his voice actor from the Mainframe DKC cartoon better.)
-Valkyrie Elysium had more of a reason to exist than Forspoken.
-Electronic Arts needs to take a break from sports titles, micro-transactions, and bad Battlefield sequels.
      -Sega's best year was 1992.
-Oculus Rift, Playstation VR, and the 3DS owe their existences to the Virtual Boy.
-Am I the only person who thinks that a Dynasty Warriors game set to either Sailor Moon, Angel Sanctuary, or Dragon Half would be awesome? (Fun fact: Kotono Mitsuishi voiced Usagi/Sailor Moon, Mink, and Rosalia de Catargena.)

Came back to work from lunch and a coworker had just been taken to the hospital.  Wishing him the best.  I mean, we all get older, but still...

        Hopefully nothing serious.

I'm having a coworker at the hospital too, but she will likely deliver any minute now (unless it already has happened) and will be on her way back home.

    • Oh, thank you, PeteE. That looks very interesting. I'm looking for something that will allow for the options like this does. I'm using the ccureau / tms9900-gcc project that provides GCC patch 1.19 with libti99 and I just hacked in the ea5split program this evening. I have successfully now built an EA5 program (with text and speech) as well as the libti99 testlib that generates 3 EA5 files. I have some cleanup to do to keep it all straight and will further study what you've done and incorporate it. I've been in the SW industry for many years and know very well that plagiarism is often the best way to learn and get things done.   I've been reading these 28 pages over the course of about 3 days, an hour or two here and there. It was painful at times, including some rather bad manners on the part of some posters. That made me wonder if that's why our GCC guru has gone silent due to some lack of appreciation.  I hope he will return. Anyway it has been the examples that have helped the most.    Thanks again for making me aware of your linker script.
    • Just played it for a couple of hours, made it to level 8 woo hoo. Now I must rest my brain.
    • Hey, just curious...do you do anything with midi? There is a utility to change Type 0 midi files into ADAM .ADM files which then can play on the Multimedia Disks, but there is no utility to convert .ADM files back to .MID. They would be much easier to edit that way. As it stands, if I screw up the .ADM file there is no way to fix it and I have to go back to the original .MID and redo the whole process again.
    • Shouldn't be terribly difficult to get something wrapped in, since Proton is an open source project.
    • Yeah, I did that, but the disk didn't boot afterwards, and I don't know anything about using the Adam.  I'd need to level up a few times to be useful there.
    • Version 6.00, Alpha 1   Atari's SIO fast mode support (38400 baud) has been patched in.  I don't have any hardware to test this with, though.  Testing on both Altirra and my 600XL appears that nothing broke, anyhow.  If somebody with faster SIO hardware can test and report in, that would be great!   testos.rom
    • If you are only getting B&W via S-Video, then the only thing that can mean is that you don't have a chroma signal present. And if you did have color, but it went away after taking out composite color bridge capacitor, then you were using the composite video signal as chroma which is not the way to go unless you have no easy alternative (XLs don't have an independent chroma signal wired to the A/V jack).
    • Here's a picture... OF THE CONVENTION!
    • I did this eight years ago, look at page 11 here in this thread, my entry from 20. March 2015. Almost all files, that came out until then, are included there. Individually, you only have to download those then, that came out in the thread afterwards.
