    • Whoa you forgot some compilations. 🤣 But seriously I think I understand what you are saying. Really the 7800 is probably the example of them needing to do better.   However, I think you need to look at it more from the time period it was made. When I think of older games I think more about playing vinyl or cassettes with music blaring.   This is why I still think one of the best retro collections I've ever played is the PS2's Activision Anthology. Not only does it have some of the most solid games from the 2600, but they licensed some 80s music that you could toggle on/off when playing. It really was a nice touch to give it a more authentic feel of the time when playing them. https://vgost.fandom.com/wiki/Activision_Anthology   I personally liked Safety Dance while playing Pitfall.
    • Trust me there are many many Atari ST files , I believe the entire Tosec library on my server plus many many more files.... it seems to change the IP address internally about every two days so I have to reset it daily until I can figure out why its doing that, maybe I have the two ethernet cables backwards on the server box, anyways the address to call is spynet.ddns.net ports 30 and 89 (two different servers), but since I lost a 6 TB drive (unless I can get it working enough to get the data off of it, it was 92 percent full , the sata power cable lost its plastic piece, it must have fallen while running)... its backed up on a 4 TB drive on the computer and the 4 TBs on my server....   On the other hand I am getting a rack mount server with SAS drives , maybe 2 or 4 SAS drives they wre going fairly cheap before everything went up in price.    The BBS is also run on a PC , has been running for the last 5 years solid, in the light of that I am basically giving up on Forem XE Pro, I may develop it more but wont run it as one does what they do best. Oh by the way all of these midi files might have been made from MP3s in Mix craft. allinall.mid Amazing2.mid amazing3.mid baby.mid backdoor.mid because.mid change.mid City.mid cowboyrm.mid create.mid dayselij.mid great.mid majesty.mid mountain.mid OurGodRE.mid rockme.mid SeekYe.mid surrend.mid white.mid
    • @JPF997   But to call music Ataris ‘Achilles Heel’, feels like forgetting they’ve repeated some other mistakes over time too.    I think it would be more meaningful to have a thread concerning everything good and bad in Ataris history, taking in everything: hardware-releases, games, game-designs, merch, focus, presence and, as mentioned, everything they done really - good and bad.
    • i'm not exactly in the best financial situation right now but i do still have a list of wanted items that i'd like to put out there in case eventually i can get back on my feet and make some deals. 2001 majesco game gear - Mainly i just want the box and inserts for the console and maybe a few of the sealed games that are commonly under 30$, the system itself retailed in 2001 for only about 30$ in 2001 and its a really cool revision, i own one loose but if i could at least get the box for it that would be nice, perhaps somebody bought a few back in the day and would be willing to part with the box? also included for games that arent under 30$ that i'd be interested in are Sonic Spinball and Sonic Chaos's majesco reprints from 2001. atari 7800 ms Pac Man True Lies - Sega Genesis i'm pretty satisfied with what i have but these are just the ones that are top on my list of wanted stuff that i feel are somewhat affordable right now, except ms pac man maybe. Just hoping eventually i can find what i'm looking for.

    • Guys, I took a crack at it.  I asked AI to make a 30 sec. commercial using the following prompt: "Jake shows everybody in the arcade that he's cool by playing Atari."  And here is what I got.   (Having some trouble resizing the video to be smaller so I hide with the spoiler tool.)       What do you guys think?  😁
    • Have you not seen many of their commercials? They are totally hokey and part of their charm. I loved the KC Chiefs ones.    https://www.eventmarketer.com/article/state-farm-insights-on-engaging-gen-z/#:~:text=A longtime sponsor of the, fans watching the stream online.   They are also targeting them on Tiktok and Twitch. Spots where the GenXers and older are probably hanging around less than those younger.   Either way zoomers still know what an arcade is. I think part of why it seems like Zoomers don't care about arcades is that they have games at home. I'm not big into redemption games but those types of games offer something they can't get at home.   I mean how many different ways has Atari repackaged their games over the years? When it is available literally at your fingertips on multiple devices, Pong just isn't that exciting to see in the arcade.   Seeing Godzilla pinball on the other hand is quite exciting.
    • And let me be the first to say it...I'm going to smell it when it arrives!   Looking forward to it
