      With the manufactured high costs on NES games, anyone here do Famicom to offset that?

      I have had a long interest in the system back a good 20 years now or so originally from weird mulltis to NES shells or the dawn of the ROM dump/release shenanigans I was into in the later half the of the 90s.  When I started to take it more seriously than 72pin limits I got a honeybee like 15 years ago and started scooping up some of the goodies thankfully and I've kept up with it but more seriously in the last couple of years.   One thing even as toxic as it has been even ruining stuff with prices in Japan it's still markedly cheaper buying that than putting up with being shark bait to trolls on US-ebay (etc.)  Often times you can find a game that on chip has little to no language so the only difference is the cool sticker and small plastic shell.  I've wanted back Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu for NES for some time but that being like in the $50-100 range last I looked I noped out on it, but then I was able to grab the FC release for just $20 so I bit.  Years ago when I wanted to get a pinball I offloaded some hitterss, one was BONK (NES-US) because I could pick up the FC game for just $20 (it's like $40 these days vs $800+ for the US one.)   Do any of you go out of your way to get FC versions over the domestic abuse?  Or do you do this maybe with other consoles, handhelds, or just stick to stuff that's regionally unique (like Crisis Force FC) or regionally unique/uncensored (Akamajo Densetsu vs Castlevania 3?)

      While visually an actual 5200 mini unit and controller would look awesome, it would suffer the same fate as limited 5200 compilations that exist, and that would be limited titles that would be on it due to licensing issues.  The original 5200 had fantastic arcade ports, that the current Atari would never get the licensing rights to. A 5200 mini would contain Super BReakout, Star Raiders, Centipede, the unreleased Asteroids, Miner 2049er and little else.

      It 's important to understand boolean logic.  A lot of decoding addresses comes from and-ing and or-ing addresses and chip selects.  Also be aware of the timing issues with logic propagation.  Many chip datasheets will show when and how long chip select signals must come together to put data on the bus in a timely manner.     I would also look into Brian's discussion of a development board for his 1090 design.  prototyping in situ with real chips could move your project along once you've gathered your supplies.  You might want to talk to Brian about building a development system.

      That thing is going to be a mess. Way too many tiny buttons.   This makes more sense. As much of a fan I am of the good ole CX10/40, it's time perhaps to make something new. Or maybe make it compatible with existing USB controllers that have enough extra buttons, like Xbox, etc. but an Atari branded one too that can be mapped. Use buttons and the second joystick for those extra keys needed.   Or a controller with a 10-key on it with overlays. Joystick, 10-key, two good action buttons maybe... An evolution of the 5200/CV/INTV but without the pain. I know I'll be building something for me for this thing. Nothing wrong with a box that sets on the table with all of this like a NES Advantage or many of the home made controllers here. Then there is This     IF anything, they should put the 10-key and some extra buttons where the membrane keyboard goes. Takes away the look, but what good is a fake keyboard anyway? Hmmm. cool, but is is a membrane or actual keys?
