Improved behavior of manual FM/MFM mode switching via the format command. Added /diskemu switch to set disk emulation mode.

  2. There are significantly less projects for the 32X, despite the 32X ironically selling better than the Jaguar back in the day, but that isn't really saying much. DOOM 32X resurrection is amazing, particularly in its current form, but it's also a very different project. It was built completely from the ground up and is not a modification of the actual 32X cart released back in the day. Anyone with access to a 32X, software emulation, or a MiSTer, should absolutely try it. I am looking forward to the Jaguar's Slayer Edition, but I also respect that the folks working on it have lives, families, jobs, and other hobbies. It'll come when it does. And if it doesn't, I don't blame them. There are dozens if not more ways to play classic DOOM these days. People making snarky comments and turning the various aftermarket console versions of the games into a pissing contest, are self-entitled dingbats that have a skewed sense of reality.

  7. A slightly unusual week for me. It’s the last week of the month which means I have high score challenges left and right to try my hand at. But for now I played a bunch of stuff I had been neglecting. Arcade: Battle Lane Vol 5 - 45 minutes There were no volumes 1-4. Commodore 64: Sword of Fargoal - 128 minutes Never got the Sword but I made it to level 10. Uridium - 15 minutes. I miss the high res graphics of the ST but this is still an amazing game. Game Boy: Battle City - 5 minutes Dig Dug - 15 minutes Dr Mario - 5 minutes Q Billion - 45 minutes I had never figured this out before but now that I have it’s pretty addictive. Shiren the Wanderer - 20 minutes Playing a difficult roguelike in a language you don’t read is maybe not going to be successful, but it sure is interesting. Amazing music in this one. Game Boy Color: Daikatana - 45 minutes A good game but way too hard, at least for how good at it I am right now. Pokemon Pinball - 5 minutes Wings of Fury - 35 minutes

  8. Caramujo is a new 2600 game that will make its first appearance in Portland this year! @Atariboy2600 (John Calcano) has created an absolutely stunning box for Caramujo, here's a render (click for a larger view): Caramujo: The snail has embarked on a mysterious journey, far from familiar landscapes. Along the way, it will encounter various friendly and hostile creatures. Your task is to help the snail reach its goal. The snail's path is unknown, just as it is unknown to you, as you both navigate through the game. The only thing the snail knows more than you is its objective. Will you succeed in helping the snail reach its goal? Good luck!

  23. Here you go… 1. Do they still ship the games from their website ? According to the site, yes, but you will probably end up with two outcomes, and this is based on many members feedback and personal experience. A. It will never ship and you need to get a refund from PayPal B. Maybe it will eventually ship after waiting days and days with no order update whatsoever, and only then after threatening to file a PayPal refund. 2. Is it safe for me to buy from them ? See above with regards to actually getting your item. As for ‘is it safe to buy from them’ from the context of is it safe for your mental wellbeing and having to deal with the regret of spending your hard earned cash on a pile of garbage game and packaging…that’s very debatable. 3. Will I get my items for sure ? See answers to question 1. 4. When I’m in the website, I can’t find a way to add the items in a cart like I have to pay each item separately ?! Sorry, can’t help with that one, but considering the website looks like it was built with Frontpage 98, I am not surprised you are having this issue. 5. Do you guys know any website or place online that sell (Homebrew games )? because I’m still looking for many many homebrew games for my collection 😭 Try the AtariAge store of course, or the Songbird Productions store. For homebrew ST ports contact Gaz who is another brilliant resource. I hope this was genuinely helpful.

  24. @ZackAttack has put together an intriguing ROM using the new ELF/StrongARM "bankswitching" format. This particular ROM, Wushu Masters, has given me a real headache and for the longest time it looked like this: Obviously wrong but it wasn't at all obvious what the problem was. All the ARM instructions it uses are used by other ROMs which work just fine. This morning Zack pointed out that I wasn't executing the .init sections in the ELF file. I was loading them but not executing them. As the name suggests, these sections point to initialisation functions that must be run before the main() function. A quick change to the emulator and the problem immediately resolved itself: simplescreenrecorder-2023-08-29_20.59.41.mp4 Selectable characters, scrolling background and great colours. I hope @ZackAttack finishes this. It looks to be tremendous fun 🙂

  29. I would be curious to see the Sega 32x community size vs the Jaguar one. Seems to me the Jag sold a little bit better? I could be completely off-base there. The 32x was the bastard step-child of Sega, and got very little love, and outward hatred from Sega of Japan. It still had quite a few great games on it... oh wait, I can really only think of Star Wars Arcade being good... From my understanding, there are likely just as many assholes in that community though. 😜 I kind of think the assholes in the Jag community are just a little more special though. Haha!

  30. You can still get it. It is for free. I renamed it MC:R (2020). It was never directly stated, but it was implied that the 2020 Missile Command: Recharged should be taken out of the VCS Store, but I felt otherwise. Since nobody noticed, Missile Comand: Recharged v1 (MC:R (2020)) will be in the Store.

  38. Cool there will be a Mega Drive version, but I wish I could get info from a website not Twitter/X...That thing's just like FaceBook, Not on Twitter? Well F U then..."Sign In Sign Up", No Soup for You! If X and FB were so great, they would stop asking me to "sign up or else" and just let me have a look around...Reminds me of anything on the internet that claims to be free, and then instantly asks for your credit card info.

  44. Yes, it's true. You're absolutely right. You're right because, on one hand, SEGA community is much, much, much larger than on Jaguar, so logically there are more programmers with the ability and desire to do this. And secondly, there are logically fewer assholes who do nothing but talk shit, are totally incompetent in programming, but who still come to open their mouths and end up disgusting those who were competent for this kind of project. At least, that's what makes sense to me. No ? What do you think about that?

  45. Hi All, While my workshop is in disarray, my creativity has never been sharper, I decided to look at the MPBII card and create a Mini Card version. I have made the digital ports 8 bit and made 4 instead off 2, other wise it is much the same design, besides being usable to a basic console with just 32k and XB. The other card is for testing the ADC with a trim-pot and the digital outputs with leds. I will write software at some point, as I do not have the CLOCK program. Listed below is the memory usage of the card. Regards Arto.
