  1. I have a hard time getting the Johnny GAT mascot van OUT of the Garage. Sometimes it fits and other times it gets stuck. Unfortunately, I don't think the flight controls are the game's strongest feature. But, the rest of the game makes up for it, in my opinion. The Pony cart mission was just wrong.
  2. I'll say about this game what I have said elsewhere and include a great video posted by my buddy Rob in Maximum RD's Classic Games FB group... People can have their Call of Duty and Battlefield and Skyrim... Any game that lets me sky dive out of my own personal gunship, Buck Ass Nekkid, land and then beat the shit out of an old lady while brandishing a GIANT purple Dildo Baseball Bat...GAME OF THE YEAR!
  3. OH! It's that AUSTIN! I was a regular poster on here about...geez...six years or so ago. But, with Katrina and the sudden move to Tennessee, jobs, getting married...I got away from it for a while. But, so many of my friends are on here. I should hang more often again.
  4. No problem. ONLIVE is my modern gaming platform of choice and the service has been pretty much awesome since I started using it.
  5. A VERY solid and well represented article on the two most pioneering of companies involved in the Cloud Gaming scene... http://www.techradar.com/news/gaming/onlive-vs-gaikai-cloud-gaming-explored-1043746
  6. LOL. I hope you do a video if you get it working, Leaf.
  7. Edge from the makers of Toki Tori is a game not unlike a cross between Marble Madness and Taipan http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zpGWy-Ka7aY&feature=related and Fallout2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lXUrY9lnf4&feature=fvst ...has been added as part of 3 weeks of Fallout. Both games are available in the Playpack which is a great collection of games on the service available for just $9.99 US a month.
  8. The crash was such an insane thing. Like I've said in the past, those that had already jumped from consoles to computers didn't even know it had happened and it DID NOT happen in Japan, the UK, and the bulk of Europe. I am now at a point where I don't even think the crash was an actual event in video game history, but instead CONSOLE game history. Arcades didn't shut down (in fact there were some hits at the time of the Crash such as Gauntlet and Paperboy) and computer games were thriving and re-writing how we envisioned video games with longer term games and stuff made for long play at home (all of which was on computers long before Zelda made it big on consoles). I think perhaps the Nintendo generation has altered history for video games in the same way the Apple generation did for the history of Computers (lots of incorrect facts and altered events).
  9. I used to like only the top button Joysticks for my C64, but recently I've found you just CAN'T go wrong with a good old fashioned CX-40. -Ray
  10. I know, I was pretty shocked when I found out he was still alive too. -Ray
  11. Excellent point. The BIGGEST problem I've always had with Battlezone is that if you see an enemy fire at you on screen. That's it, you are getting hit and there is NOTHING that can stop it, not even turning in an evasive pattern. -Ray
  12. I really like your approach best. I don't own a driving controller and really don't intend to buy one. -Ray
  13. I second the comment about A-VCS-TEC Challenge being addictive, it really is. It also looks GREAT. I also recomend... Hunchy 2 The 2005 Multicart Wolfenstein Star Fire -Ray
  14. I've always hated this game and I never understood why it didn't make it on to more of our "worst Games" lists. -Ray
  15. As attrocious as this thing was, I'd love to see the other ones. -Ray
  16. How do you think things might have been different if Atari got the Amiga? -Ray
  17. But, I don't think the Crash was ever going to last forever, in any reality. The truth is, people enjoy playing video games and so long as people enjoy something they aren't going to stop doing it. In some way or another Video Games would have been big again by 86/87, just like they were when the NS hit. I never believed Nintendo saved video games. I think video games needed a break and Nintendo hit at the right time. -Ray
  18. LOL, this is very true. Marketing still would have fallen short. I shiver at the idea of how Atari would have marketed the NES. -Ray
  19. Yeah, but only a hand full of games used them. There was also a modem that was used for online banking! The problem with importing all these cool accessories is that the aux port (which the Japanese accessories used) was changed on the US NES. I think an adapter might be able to be made, but I'm not 100% sure if all the needed lines are still in the US port. Tempest Why did they change it? I can see changing the look of the machine to give it a different image, but why remove something like that? -Ray
  20. Dude, what the heck is with your overwelming intrest with Jack Tremil. ? It's starting to go past silly and into the creepy column really quick I'm not thinking so. I've been reading the Commodore 64 book. It got me a little interested in someone who wa sa rather strong personality and an important figure in the history of gaming. I appreciate your interest in my well being though. But, I assure you, I'm fine. The man did play a role in both Atari and Commodore and therefor is very important in my particular field of study, which is video game history. I am thinking of writing a book you know. But, if the avatar bothers you, I've been thinking of changing it anyway. I've got something new in mind anyway. -Ray
  21. Boy we didn't get much of anything cool in terms of Famicom peripherals. Thanks for the answer to the disk system thing. Apparently it was on its way out even as the NES was on its way into America. -Ray
  22. Ok, its 1984... Kassar doesn't get busted for insider trading and stays with Atari. The Deal with Nintendo goes through and Atari purs out the NES as planned, with import titles from Japan. Plans also go ahead with the Atari 7800. Kassar wins either way... The 7800 is a success and he can kill the NES. Or The 7800 BOMBS and he can fall back on the already produced NES. So, what happens next? -Ray
  23. Thanks guys, as i said, I made my choices based ona lot of what you guys had to say. -Ray
