  1. Hmmm... last new game I played drunk was with a group of friends playing GTA3 - it seems funnier after downing a few Irish Car Bombs while throwing Molotov Cocktails at people (lol).... but, last Atari game playing while drunk? I'd have to say it would be Pac-Man... it nearly killed the good buzz I had going... Never play it drunk, no matter if you think it'll look better... sure is not last call, I'll tell you... ....and, Dropkick Murphy's are great! If you like them, check out Bloodshot Hooligans. They are a great punk band too... not Irish, but they drink lots! Later! Al www.blowoutmagaine.com www.bulletproofpopemobile.com www.jasonalex.com
  2. I would have to say Asteroids - just for the fact that it's in color, and it was always a rush to play... still play it to this day! Al
  3. Hey there. Just wanted to let people know that a piece I wrote about wrestling video games (old and new) is posted on a web page that I write for. I do make mention of the wrestling game for the Atari 2600, so there is some sort of interest there... Anyways, you can check it out at www.blowoutmagazine.com Hope some of you like it if you get a chance to read it. Al www.blowoutmagazine.com www.jasonalex.com www.bulletproofpopemobile.com
  4. I love that this ROM finally is released. I know that some already mentioned this release and the movie release was a coincidence... I just love the fact that we have a game before the other systems do! Take that X-Box! Pope Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  5. Wow, this is a great topic here! Loving it! Anyways, just like everyone else, I would love to see some video history footage... look at the "Intellivision Lives!" for the PC - lots of good games, lots of history, box scans, history, easter eggs, and video footage of the people behind the scenes.... I can't wait for the new Intellivision disk to come out! Have all that, and it will be something to rave about. Look at the good reviews that the Intellivision disk got? We need that for the next Activision disk - I don't care if it won't sell more than the new Tony Hawk XVII, but, at least give the older games the justice it deserves. Playing the old games aren't history enough - it's good to know what went on as well to try to imagine the experience... Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  6. I think when I first got my computer in 1996 - a friend of mine talked about Colecovision games being emulated... I asked him about Atari, and he said yeah, and then, a week later, I was on-line looking! Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  7. HAHAHAHA! Silly, but fun to watch.... liked the drums and the "da da da da dada" to go with the music.... Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  8. I just always thought those Tron joystics from M-Network were pretty cool.... not the best joystick (wasn't that reliable), but I just thought it was cool looking. But, I gotta say though, I still like the good old Atari joysticks, especially playing games like Decathlon! Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  9. Speaking of Smurfs, weren't they (Infogrames) resposible for the PlayStation game too? If it was, I gotta say that it was a horrible game - don't get me wrong, the graphics were great, but the controls were very sloppy and I just wanted to throw the controller through the TV! E.T must die!

Wntermute, You're right - M&M/Mars didn't think it was a good idea, so they went to the next closest thing - Recees Pieces, and after that, sales for the candy just boomed! The power of the little green guy. BTW - E.T. isn't dead just yet - read in some PlayStation magazine that there will be TWO E.T. games coming out during the summer 2001. Even though some hate the game, would be nice to see the Atari version as a bonus game... lol
  11. Can't wait for GBA! I'm looking forward to the Tony Halk game (it looks good!) as well as Fire Pro Wrestling (yeah, love wrestling - say what you will....lol). But, don't know what makes a "B" side game, but here's what I would like to see: River Raid Moon Patrol Tron Deadly Disks ...and there is more, but I'm tired and need sleep. lol Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  12. Even though it wasn't my favorite game as a kid, it's one that I'll never trade up. I got it for Christmas from my great-grandmother, and she died a few days after Christmas. Everytime I play it, I still think of her, because it was the only present I played with that year. But, people are right - E.T. was a game that was made quickly to cash in on the craze. Hell, didn't Henry Thomas (Elliot) do a commercial for Intellivision with George Plimpton just as the E.T. game was coming out? What a kick in the teeth that is, huh? Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  13. I know of a place in NY that I just fell in love with! Not only Atari games, but lots of import and domestic for lots of other systems as well! It's called Multimedia 1.0, and here is the phone number: 1-212-539-1039 They also have a web page: www.multimedia1.com Hope it helps out your friend! 14. For me, Pitfall II is in there now, and stacked right next to it is Lazer Volley and Missile Command. Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  15. Cool topic. My dad was into Atari 2600 back in the days... his favorites were Asteroids and Freeway... Mine as a kid was Atari's Bowling and Moon Patrol... and Masters of The Universe (but, I always used to go over to my friend's house at the time, because he had Intellivision, and that He-Man game was 10X better! hehehehehe). Good old days... still play em' thanks to the z26.... al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  16. I hear what all of you are saying. I remeber in between classes, I'd go thrifting (and going to a few different towns, looking through store to store was a challenge to do in less than 2 hours to your next class), and I'd do the same thing. The last store I went to, I'd end up buying something - even if it wasn't Atari or video game related. The last time I went, I saw no video games, but, found a paperback of "I Am Jackie Chan - My Life in Action" from Jackie Chan. And, it was a good read. I got a good amount of his movies, and it was cool to read about him. BTW, Rush Hour 2 comes out this summer! Yes! Anyways, I'm going to go out thrifting this weekend. Hope I find something, and if any of you do, wish you the best of luck. Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  17. Games I'd like to see: *Qix *Pole Position II *Master Of the Lamps (Commodore 64 game) *Break Dance (a dumb C64 game, but, it would work!) *Donkey Kong 3 *Pac-Land *Shark! Shark! (Fun Intellivision game!) *Tron Cyber-Cycles (hey, if anyone can do a cool hack and mod up Surround, that would work!) *some type of a Final Fantasy type RPG... *Cloak & Dagger *NeverEnding Story *Richard Petty's Talledega (Cool racing game from my C64 days!) *Castle Wolfenstein 3D *Nightmare On Elm Street .....I'm sure there is more.... lol Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
  18. Ok, another game I'm now looking for! lol Anyways, I picked up a copy of NextGen magazine (Lifecycle 2 Vol3 #5), and they do a nice piece about classic games for classic consoles such as Vextrex, ColecoVision, and the Atari 2600. A programmer from Digital Eclipse (Mike Mika) created a version of Kickman for the 2600! They showed a screen shot of it, and it looks damn good for a 2600 game! If anyone has info on this one, I'd love to grab my mitts on this one! X popeal X www.blowoutmagazine.com
  19. Hey! Thanks for putting up the ROM - great game!
  20. Saw on the z26 emu page that there was a version of Yahtzee for the 2600, but cannot find it anywhere... anyone know where I might be able to find it? Please. let me know. Thanks! Al www.blowoutmagazine.com
