  1. To be kinda technical... the 68000 is 32-bit internally and uses a 16-bit bus.. hence the ST's name (Sixteen-Thirtytwo) and the TT's name later when they moved to the 68030 (Thirtytwo-Thirtytwo)
  2. I'm up near PV Mall. JagDiesel's in Mesa, and I know you know where Ron Corcoran lives (he's mentioned a Castles & Coasters get-together once or twice)
  3. Actually, liquid_sky, Jedi Arena WAS released.. I had it and it was very fun. The others you mentioned were never released. As for Ewok Adventure, some enterprising programmer whipped up a version of it for one of the VCS emulators (same guy that did Yars Quest, I think) since the prototype ROM was extremely early-stage.
  4. This must be what JagDiesel was referring to last month. I stopped into Games Plus at 44th & Thomas since I was in the area. When I started browsing the Atari stuff (to get a copy of 7800 Mario Bros. for the coming 7800 TG decathlon), the clerk guy said it was all sold to a local collector.. though it was all still shelved like usual. What really got me was there was still a 2600 in the glass case (console, joystick, AC adapter, switchbox all shrinkwrapped together) that I noticed. The clerk guy said it was $90!!! Then I noticed an X-Eye (Genesis & SegaCD all-in-one) right above it labelled $60 that he offered to me for $50. Of course, I turned him down politely out of principle.. but I might go back for the X-Eye later this week.
  5. IMHO, Brad should get in touch with Ron Corcoran from TG to see what solutions might be viable.
  6. Just stopped in at DCEmulation and found that in the last couple days there have been not one but TWO 2600 emulators announced for the Dreamcast. A demo for one has been released that plays Pitfall with no sound and requires a serial "coder's cable" (usually found at places like http://www.lik-sang.com ). The other is being tacked onto an existing Sega Master System emulator.
  7. For MASH, click on the 2600 link on the left, then Companies, then 20th Century Fox. That'll list all of Fox's games without having to worry about asterisks or no asterisks in the name.
  8. I like I, Robot also.. am I the only one who wasted a quarter on the grafitti mode on it just to see what it did?
  9. There was also a Rabbit Freeway.. it's on the 32-in-1 cart along with Chicken Freeway.
  10. Actually, being nocturnal I am often in the chatroom at 3am.
  11. Is it just me or does that title screen look similar to the one they did for Mario Bros.?
  12. They're really not all that similar.. Entombed is an odd maze game and Blueprint is.. well, Blueprint. The thing I never got about Blueprint is that it's extremely difficult to get through a level completely without losing a life.
  13. Actually, I posted on this same thing in the Web Site board farther down the list. Added:} Tell ya what guys.. if you don't mind hanging out with a bunch of Star Wars collectors, we could all chat in #swtz on IRC server chat.webmaster.com (Java chat page is at http://www.collectstarwars.com/chat.htm ) until Alex and AL can get something together. 14. Well, suffice to say, we don't talk about JUST Star Wars 24-7 in #swtz.. there are discussions of video games that pop up and I do have a couple friends bring up my Mines Of Minos record to impress the newbies (which then spawns a huge retrogaming discussion for the next half hour). Either way, the way I see it is.. the chat room would be for people to chat about anything. If someone had something really profound to announce or relate to everyone else, I'm sure they'd also chime in on the message boards. 15. I have been thinking that what this place needs is a chat room.. webmaster.com hosts a pretty nice IRC network with options to start your own chat room that include a Java chat client. (I help moderate CollectStarwars.com's chatroom #swtz, you can find it at http://www.collectstarwars.com/chat.htm )
  16. Hey Brien.. have any solutions for the Mac users out here? (other than "get VirtualPC" or "get a real computer" .. the former is just a kludge and the latter is just plain rude)
  17. Jag, I asked Ron Corcoran (Twin Galaxies' Atari referee) about picking up an extra set of exclusives for me and he seems pretty sure that they'll be 1 per customer. I can see both sides to this, ya know.. if they let the size of one's wallet count, there'd be 50 scalpers camping out in line to snag 5+ copies each to sell on eBay. 1 per customer's good as it is so it's fair (but only to the people who can actually go).
  18. Yes, there were. Those two should be on the KLOV. I know for sure they're emulated by MAME.
  19. Well, this sounds more like an emulator glitch, but to be absolutely sure, I'd check the ROM with 5200 ROM Info.
  20. Bliss went open source a few months ago. Here's a link to the source at SourceForge. http://sourceforge.net/projects/blissemu/

    atari lists

hmm Twit.. maybe something done in RealBasic would work.. the high-end RB license includes database support and cross-platform compiling.
  22. For the record: Earthworld was based on the classical Zodiac (12 rooms) Fireworld was based on the Tree of Life from the Caballa (10 rooms, arranged in three intertwining triangles plus one at the bottom) Waterworld was just 10 rooms lined up vertically with action sequences in the "hallways" The way objects interacted with the rooms and hallways is different for each game. In Earthworld, the key, Talisman of Passage, and amulet altered the order of rooms and your ability to move through the left and right doors. In Fireworld, several rooms will have doors closed unless you have certain items with you. In Waterworld and Earthworld, you can carry certain items to skip the action sequences. In Fireworld, you can't skip the sequences, but several items will greatly reduce the requirements for passing the sequence. Overall, Waterworld is the easiest of the three, then Earthworld, then Fireworld. Waterworld only has the action sequences working against you and gives subtle hints as to what items will work for each room's clue. Earthworld has the action sequences working against you and the amulet's room randomizing capability to confuse you. Fireworld simply gets too hard after only a handful of clues as it ramps up the speed of the unskippable action sequences.

    YES!!!

Depends on what you like. I myself had Roadblasters, Xenophobe, and Chip's Challenge (never could get past that last stage.. knew how to do it, just couldn't do it right.. kinda like NES Super Mario 1&3)
  24. Wish I could go.. there's a bunch of stuff that will be newly released there that I want to get. Would any soul be kind enough to help me out?
  25. As for the ROMs themselves, I'd strongly suggest getting Richard Bannister's ROM Info Bundle and registering it (so you can use the updated beta versions, which add more platforms also). This will identify and rename ROMs, let you know if they're bad dumps, and will even Gzip ROMs when the emulator will support them.
