  1. Superb work, my hat is off to you Owl and team. This is what highlander should have been like.
  2. I think part of the problem with Jag homebrew is getting the initial set up correct. Personally, i'd pay for something like BATARI or a IDE ( where i could write and compile my code, and upload my compiled code to a jag in one hit ) With regard to hardware cost's, something like the skunk with a SD slot would be good. Make each board hardwired with a serial no. and then the user orders a game quoting the board serial no and the dev sends a personalised SD card or download coded to that serial no. Again I'd pay bucks for this and someone could even run a game store online where all dev's could sell their work reducing overheads further. I don't post here often - you can probably see why
  3. Whilst not atari games.... Eidolon, Koronis Rift, Rescue on Fractalus ( as has already been mentioned ), Electra Glide. Used to love these on my 800xl
  4. I don't want to rain on anyones parade, but..... Release the CF with the copy protection and i'll buy it today. Add the DSP and I don't want it. If I wanted a new console i'd buy one. The CF has the potential to really aid homebrew development and push jaguar programming forward, the DSP will just confuse the issue and probably kill of jaguar homebrew. I'll get me coat.
  5. Hey guys just a CF related question. Seeing as how you've added a DSP to your design, would it be possible to bypass the 6800 and use another chip to control the jag. I don't really know the cartridge slots technical details so this is probaly not possible due to bandwidth constraints, but just thought i'd throw it out there. I hope to see a CF produced (without the ability to play existing roms) I beleive this would make the production of new software easier but also make selling of new CF/Carts cheaper. Any idea when a CF will be produced - not interested in the dsp just the CF.
  6. I don't see making a VR to be prohibitivly expensive ?? of course I don't know how the original was made - but with TFT's being so cheap now and I woud guess that the optics wouldn't be that hard or expensive either, and if nentendo can make a wii controller so cheap then the actual movement sensors and ir camera etc will also be cheap. But back on topic - i'd love to see a simple to use all in one dev program - editor compiler etc that runs under windows or linux.
  7. A couple of points phonedork You ARE the troll here - you are the one stirring it up knowing you'll get a rise out of this community. If any of the members of this forum were on a PSX forum doing this then they would be the troll. And you don't represent the world, just your opinion. Get back to discussing the technical merits of both systems or shut the **** up. I'll get me coat
  8. skybird this is dropkick..... Stand by for a red dot alpha message..... Jagcode II now has four confirmed entrants and is definately on. More entrants still welcome, c'mon code something ( ya never know hangman 2000 could win ) Remember, voting will be by poll so anyone can win. this message will self destruct when you leave this forum
  9. Got two entrants - s'all looking good
  10. My pockets are deep but my arms are short so Winner takes all this time - still at the current exhange rate that comes in at 435 euros and 585 bucks. Source code isn't a requirment cos people didn't like the requirement last time. Cheers
  11. Title says it all - go to www.jagcode.com and have look
  12. The trouble with a demo is ( IMHO ) that it shows what the coder can do and/or what the hardware can do, but unless decent commented source is released then nobody benefits from it, except getting the woa look what this dood has done on this kit. The release of the source code isn't going to be a requirement this time, if people want to release the code then more power to them and the jag coding scene. I'm really after suggestions at the mo and if interested parties want to contact me via pm then please do so. I really want to get the framework down by the end of next week, so I can re-do the web and get a bit of publicity going for this compo. cheers
  13. Well now, I've got a bit of spare time on me hands now so it's time to consider JagCode II. So any sugestions on what t the goal should be this time ?? Any particular software types, adventure, arcade, 2d, 3d, retro remake, size limited ?? I'm thinking the compo should end DEC 31st 2007 - with voting from Jan 1st to 31st 2008. C'mon guys ( and gals ? ) what do think.
