  2. Zeptari: I just got the games from Mike @ Collector's Cards and Games PO Box 861 Englishtown, NJ 07726 (732)792-8430 Visit his web page at: www.collectorscardsandgames.com I got about 18 games from him 16 were brand new and two loose ones. I paid $3 to $5 per game. It took about 7 days for me to get the items in, but for that price I don't mind waiting. I had one bad game and he is going to send my money back with no problems. I told him that you guys might contact him for some goods, but I told him to give me first dibs on anything I don't have... ) (Just Joking)
  3. I just saw a web site that had battery covers and other parts available for sale. If you want, I'll see if I can find it again, or perhaps someone reading this string will know of one foe sale! Email me or post here and I will look for that web site again...
  4. I don't know about the music, but the sound effects in Klax was great fun!!!
  5. It got remarks... Check out the following link: http://www.digiserve.com/eescape/atari/lyn...all-Heroes.html Although, I have not tried it, it rated high
  6. I am interested in seeing what others say about this subject, but from what I’ve seen on ebay, you might get as much as $300 to $500 American dollars (not quid’s). But I have to add that grouping all of this together might make you less! If you break it up into smaller packages you would maximize on bidding wars and what not!!! As I’m writing this, there is a lynx system with only 25 games that are not as sought after as yours are on ebay.It is now in the middle of a bidding war. When I last looked, it was up to $350.00 and still climbing…
  7. quote: Great place to order from, huh? fast and trustworthy? Zeptari: So far Mike over at Collector's Cards and Games as no complaints from me! Nothing like you described the guy from your source. christianscott27@aol.com - I'm waiting on about 5 different shipments. Once I get all together and make sure it is all working I'll answer your email questions for the mail listing...
  8. Hey fellow NewEnglanders: E-mail me if you all want to make plans to get together to lynx up! Think I will check out this New England trademeets that christianscott talked about. Only Joking about the wife... She helped me pick stuff out on Ebay and made me get a Lynx system for her as well so she could Lynx with me! THANK-YOU JOAN!!!
  9. I didn't have much luck locating a manual on line for the system either; lots for the games, but none for the Lynx it's self. I have a Lynx I without a manual and I just bought a Lynx II on ebay that has a manual with it... Does anyone know what my legal rights are as far as posting a scanned or retyped version of the manual on line for all to use... Perhaps a .pdf file located on atariage?
  10. quote: Any front-end client could also allow for the people playing to chat with one another, making it a bit easier to start games and choose which games you'd want to play. That would be pretty damn neat. It would certainly encourage me to play more multiplayer Lynx games! That would be Kool; linking up over the internet! What a great idea for Atariage! Get busy Al 1 & Al 2
  11. Great WEB site Al 1 & Al 2, but I have a question about the picture of Lynx I that comes up when you point the pointer to the "L" on the top of the WEB page! Seems the Atari Logo is indeed on the top of the LCD screen, but the controls are reversed from the systems I've seen. Your pictures show the directionals on the right and the options on the left. Also, did I over look it or do you not have a game review up for the Lynx games? I know Rob Jung has a good game review on his WEB site "Electric Escape", but as great and all inclusive as Atariage is, I'm surprised you don't have your own views and overviews of each game! Thought... Perhaps a place we all could put our own views of each game and a overall rating total... Just a thought! Great site none the less! Keep up the great work guys!!!
  12. Hey Rick, I probally would be interested! I'm in Rhode Island! I've never Lynxed with anyone, but hey, it might be fun... Right now the only games I have are: Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure Chip's Challenge Crystal Mines II Dirty Larry Renegade Cop Hydra Klax Kung Food Malibu Bikini Volleyball Ninja - Gaiden Power Factor Rampart Robo-squash Steel Talons Superskweek Switchblade II Tournament Cyberball Xybots Or at lease I will at the end of this week!
  13. Q. What was the Atari Lynx? A. The Lynx was the world's first hand-held color video game system. Sold by Atari, the Lynx offered true multi-player competition, built-in 3D and distortion graphic effects, reversible controls, and fast arcade action. “FOR THE REST OF THE STORY…” check out FAQ at: http://www.digiserve.com/eescape/atari/FAQ_-_Lynx

    HELP!!

Which lynx do you have? I've got Lynx I. I can give you specs for it if you need... Let me know! I'll spec it for you when I get home from work today.
  15. Thanks Guys! If you can give me a name and address or better yet, a phone number, that would be great! I'll let you guys know anything I find as well! I found a place in New Jersey that some stuff. At last count, he said he had about 14 or 15 titles for about $5 each. I'm just waiting to hear back from him. I can send his phone number to you if you want. In Rhode Island, a place called Luke's had some loose stuff, but someone out west contacted him for everything last week... I would ask if you guys are interested in trading, but I only have a Lynx I (in mint condition) bought in December of 1989 with one game (NINJA GAIDEN). It went into storage before the summer of 1990 (I joined the military). I recently took it out of storage and after blowing off the dust; I still think it is one of the best (if not the best) handheld game systems out there!
  16. Look around the WEB at various sites... I am looking to buy games for my Lynx system and will give you $5 to $15 per game, but depending on what you got, You might be able to get as much as $25 or more... Too bad for me... Let me know if you want to sell any thing for the price I offered! Send me an e-mail to: daker@videologyinc.com dwayne
  17. I am trying to find games and accessories in the New England area. I found a place in New Jersey that has a few games for sale. Does any one know of a place in Rhode Island or near by that has stuff???

What were the unreleased Lynx games? A: The following games were announced at one time or another as being planned for the Lynx. With the dissolution of Atari, the chances are very slim that any of these games will ever be produced or released. However, a few enterprising companies and individuals have considered plans to either finish their Lynx titles for release, to sell finished-but-unreleased games, or to produce new games on their own. Was there a TV tuner option for the Lynx? A. No. Atari's official position was that market research showed that a TV tuner, while a neat idea, would not be bought by most players. The unofficial word from Stephen Landrum is that the Lynx screen display is not capable of handling a broadcast television picture. (Just a Note on this one from Videology: I hear someone now has a TV adaptor as long as you are willing to modify your Lynx) ==============================================================================
  19. I have some scaned schematics if it will help you guys... Let me know. I can e-mail them to you or try to remember the web site I got them from...
  20. Thanks Adrian M! I also have a couple of other questions I hope someone can answer… I am interested in Shanghai, but how good is the image on the Lynx screen? It must be rather small and hard to see the tiles I would think… I am also interested in Marble Madness, which I found on Matthias Domin's Atari Lynx page, but I don’t understand what an LNX-file for use with the Handy-Emulator is.
  21. I had an original Lynx and 1 game (NINJA GAIDEN) given to me when it was a brand new system back in 1988 or 89'. I recently took it out of storage and after blowing off the dust; I still think it is one of the best (if not the best) handheld game systems out there! After doing some WEB surfing, I've found out there is a Lynx II out there. Are the games compatible? Or do I need to be concerned when buying games for the Lynx...
  22. Correction: I just saw a price on refurbished systems. $29.95... Check it out. http://www.gamesmen.com.au Sorry...
  23. I just saw a price on refurbished systems. $29.95... Check it out. http://www.gamesmen.com
  24. Sounds like a great deal! Does everything work??? There are plenty of places to get copies of the manuals off the WEB
  25. I own one of the original Lynx systems and really like it, but admit to never trying the Lynx II. Here is a write up I found doing a web search through Google.com: The Lynx II is a bit smaller and lighter than the original Lynx. It has a slightly longer battery life, and can also just turn the screen off during a game pause to save batteries. (The original Lynx had a five minute auto-power shut-off that would have prevented this from being useful. It was removed in the Lynx II). A power LED was added (which also blinks when battery power is low), and cartridges are easier to insert. The only differences in a technical sense is that the Lynx II has a more efficient internal design, and the headphone jack supports stereo sound. The speaker in the Lynx II is also not as loud as the original Lynx, though it's more than adequate for all but the noisiest situations. Also, the Lynx II can experience what is called "blinking pixel syndrome". With certain game cards, one pixel on the screen (usually stationary) cycles through all the colors very quickly. It does not affect game play, and isn't always noticed unless it's looked for. It seems to be fixed in later Lynxes, making it even less of a factor. The power consumption in the Lynx II is about fifteen percent less than that of the original Lynx. Harry Dodgson (hdodgson@ford.com) shows Classic using 343 mA, versus 296 mA for the Lynx II. Also, about two-thirds of the Lynx power use is for the backlight screen alone, as using the Lynx II with the backlight off used only 97 mA. He concludes, "the 'battery life of five hours' claim by Atari is realistic."
