  1. I loved it too, but only because my parents forbade me from ever playing it.
  2. Congrats on getting a good bargain back up and running, it felt great to me the first time i took apart my NES to fix it as well.
  3. Just out of curiousity, Cleveland OH? If so, were you a freenet user too?
  4. Cool article. I grew up in Cleveland until 20, and it's odd how many people I meet online are either living in or originally from Ohio, especially considering Ohio had next to nothing to do with (to my knowledge) the development of any console or arcade gear. Something in the water, I suppose.
  5. http://www.shamoozal.com/nerdlog/2007/05/2...s-former-glory/ It seems like a really bad idea to use a magic eraser on anything that isn't solid metal/plastic. Any horror stories? And damn, if EB/Gamestop stickers aren't my enemy.
  6. I'm confused, so you're all saying the 9800$ I've invested in US AES games isn't a good investment?
  7. The common thread in the replies seem to be people being unsure if others disliked the games. I'm pretty sure Rygar was pretty well liked or at leasted respected, much like Karnov. The other games that popped in to my head that I -loved- were Kid Niki : Radical Ninja, Jackie Chan's Kung Fu, and Mendel Palace. When I picked up a NES again 5 years back, Mendel Palace was the first game I looked for. EDIT: Oh, and Deja Vu.
  8. I don't recall this paragraph being in the original post.
  9. What, you mean like the Gamecube? The DC, PS2, and XBox had dozens of fishing and hunting games and were still successful with 'hardcore' gamers. I understand the sentiment, but as far as Ninty is concerned, I imagine they're not too worried. I know far more many Wii owners (casuals) than 360 or PS3 owners combined at the point. What I don't agree with is that the 'hardcore' players make up the money in the business. Plenty of people I would call 'casual' or at least 'very-non-hardcore' people were the same ones buying Halo, Halo 2 and GoW. Not trying to Wii on your comments, just food for thought.
  10. Yar good stuff, I picked up KoF 2006 for 15$, condemned for 20$ and OutRun 2006 for 10$. Thusfar, I only semi regret condemned.
  11. What's the condition of victory? If the rumors hold true and the Wii is sold at a profit, I'd say end-game. If the metric is add-ons and software sales, then Nintendo has once again won, and only the devs are going to lose. Is it me, or does it seems that Ninty is farming out all their franchises to 3rd part studios? Has this been going on for a while?
  12. How much did people pay for the home version of Pong in 1975? Wikipedia says 100$, which is 400$ in today money.
  13. Shatterhand Galaxy 5000 Clash at Demonhead Flying Warriors
  14. For almost all the games I've played on the AES, you get the opportunity to save and the end of a level or upon game over. In the end everything is game dependant.
  15. I wouldn't say they're rare by any means, but just like anything related to fighting games, the stuff never sells. I picked up that and the Guile one about 6 months ago at an EB for 6$ a piece new. Fun collector item.
  16. I picked it up due to some fanboy loverant I saw on Digg last week, and I have to admit, I'm not disappointed. It literally is a perfect mix of old beat em ups and shumps. The story is fairly thin, and the music could use a lot of work, but damn if the game isn't fun. I picked it up new for 20$. I strongly suggest if you need a new PS2 title, check it out.
  17. So speaking of Steel Batallion again, since I already have a mint controller and original game, is it worth it for me to spend the 7$ or so to pick up line of contact for "collecting" purposes? It doesn't make sense in my head, as by the time SB is really worth anything, XBox Live for the original XBox will be dead. Thoughts?
  18. super star soldier, blazing lazers, bloody wolf, alien crush, devils crush.
  19. Anyone know when the next issue ships? Seems like it's been an awful long while since I received the winter issue, and I didn't see anything on their site.
  20. The only time I ever dig one out is when I have a craving for Starfox or OoT.
  21. Buddy and me are trying to figure out how to fight in NHL 94 for the genny, any advice or manual scans?
  22. Concur, everything is great except the awful demo track. :/
  23. When I popped in last week, it was buy and 2 used, get the third free. There are a -lot- of saturn/dreamcast sequels on the xbox, panzer, jet grind, shenmue, outrun, etc.
  24. Not trying to spam, but I have to say this is one of the best pieces of niche software I've ever used, I was able to get all 500+ items in my collection inventoried today (webcam scans SKU's, awesome!) Even exported everything for me as HTML, I threw it on the web if anyone is interested: http://iamsadred.com/games/ If you're a mac user, you gotta try this out.
