  1. Much better, I think if this kind of information was provided at the start things might have been different. Still would like more facts but he explains things quite well, less of Mikes marketing spin. If I had had this information and it had been $299 including shipping and import duty to the UK I might have backed this, price is still crazy without fixed specs but I was more convinced of the concept a week ago than I perhaps am now so might have taken a punt. Think they need to cancel IGG, think about what the customer wants, and then hopefully come back with a better campaign and product that is more developed.
  2. just started listening, not sure i'll make it through though, an hour long and so far sounds like everything we have heard before Want facts not a list of ideas, should let John ask a question without talking over him.
  3. I thought Tiny Knight looked quite good, of course you have to remember this is really a homebrew snes game. When this was a $150 console I thought it would be fun to play, hope it still gets a release somewhere else.
  4. They just haven't thought things through properly. Think the project is a bit lost, it was the FPGA side that got me interested and I think that was a hook for lots of others, as soon as they started talking to devs they realised ARM was better for them, think they should have made a choice at that point to go one way or the other with the CPU. Although I am more interested in an FPGA system I think Retro VGS, should cancel indiegogo and go back to the beagleboard black type idea and sell these things at there original price point of $150. People would buy it, devs would be happy with lots more customers. I might even buy it then, though as I said my interest is in either kevtris FPGA board or maybe MIST. Its all a bit sad, starting to feel sorry for them now. Any bets on when they will cancel the indiegogo campaign?
  5. Just thinking about my vote, think I said 8bit and 16bit although 8bit is probably more my thing. Would be very happy to purchase as it is with the cores you already have rather than wait. Been following yours and others work with FPGA seemingly for years, missed MiniMig, tried to buy an FPGAArcade a couple of years ago and currently considering a MIST board, though yours isn't released it seems more complete.
  6. Think $200 to $250 would be okay. For this type of thing many people still be happy to buy a bare board. If it reduces cost you don't need to include shiny case, controllers and wot not like RVGS. Would keep shipping sensible too, RVGS bunch are talking $70 shipping to Europe?! Have to remember us over here will probably have to pay another $90 on import duty and tax.
  7. Would definitely buy one, think this would be aiming at perhaps a more techy market than the 'retail package' type thing Retro VGS want to do but I don't have a problem with that. Been watching your YouTube channel for while and i'm sure lots of other have done so and have confidence in your ability to deliver.
  8. Mine arrived okay but the tracking was a bit odd to follow, could only get it to show me the info in German. Package was actually deliverd to me by parcel force in the uk.
  9. sorry thats "Lynx I have" rather than "Lynx 1"
  10. blimey, what was he trying to do with them? Looks like fun though, i'm sure you will be able to get some working.
  11. Good video, nice to see how you did the mod, reassures me that I did mine the same (though have also fitted the vga) Think I'm going to have to buy another one for my other lynx.
  12. Fitted the LCD replacement to a broken Lynx I have today, now works great and display is wonderful, so much nicer than the original one. Have fitted the VGA connector but not had chance to play on a big screen yet. The circuit board seem well made, lot nicer than those early pics McWill posted. Very minor quibble but would have been nice to have some kind of brightness adjustment, if playing in a dark room it could go a bit lower. Also might see if I can find a differnt VGA connector thats black as the white one stands out a little. Probably order another one now :-)
  13. Yeah, I'd be interested too.
  14. I think so, just send mcwill a message. Think he must be very busy making kits though, I said I'd buy one very early on but still nothing yet, hopefully won't be waiting too long.
  15. Not sure but I would like one too, emailed them the other day.

    Lynx to VGA

maybe should start a new thread for McWills mod as its kind of a new subject compared to the other 2?
  18. Looks really good, thanks for the video. I'm guessing from the removed parts that the new LCD brightness is fixed or can that be altered some other way?
  19. I designed a mod that worked ok (not great, but better than normal output). Used to be on www.itstoast.co.uk/atari/ but messed the web site up a while back. I'll try and get it back online soon :-) .
  20. Try this: http://web.archive.org/web/20030522112452/...tari/palav2.htm As I said, it is not perfect, but if you have a a spare junior system it could be worth a try.
