I dunno...Classicgaming.com has a pretty definitive site, and I'd like to think I'm approaching a certain degree (if not quite William's near-obsessive degree, which I happen to like) of definitiveness. I guess it'd be a question of what could be brought to the table that'd be new. (Not trying to be an arse there, by the way, just posing the question.)
I'm a bit disappointed that there's only one homebrew for the O2 (well, two if you count Ralph Baer's Pinball, which I really don't consider a homebrew). I just wish I knew even one iota about programming the Intel 8048 chip, or I'd take a swing at it.
VCS module for the Odyssey 2? I don't think I've ever heard of this. They didn't even run on the same processor.
As for the Odyssey 3...I don't think anything was released for it aside from the Videopac+G7400 "enhanced" games like Terrahawks.
Anyone want my copy of Terrahawks BTW? It's pretty much Attack Of The Time Lord! with different artwork - and, supposedly if one has the machine to access the enhanced graphics - the extra VP+G7400/Odyssey 3 background graphics.
Thanks gang...and here I thought I was just being silly by taking the "floating eyeballs" thing to its logical extreme.
That said...I'll fess up to the fact that I was sure Chris Johnson or the Hardestys' label designs were gonna get this one. There were a LOT of good entries in this one.
Tulsa would be the closest to me. If and when the time comes, get in touch - I can do some handy promotional tasks like assembling a TV commercial for the event, any website-building required, and that sort of thing. A Tulsa/OKC classic gaming event would be bliss.
If it were someplace like Tulsa, OKC, St. Louis, Little Rock, and heck, even Austin sounds good, I'd make an effort to go. At this point, and again income is a huge factor, I couldn't even consider a trip to CGE or PhillyClassic.
So hard to pick one favorite...Killer Bees, K.C. Munchkin, Quest For The Rings, Smithereens, Turtles, Q*Bert, Alien Invaders Plus, Baseball, Power Lords...but I have to say that my favorite IS Pick Axe Pete.
I still have my old Odyssey 2. Love that thing to death - truth be told, it's still my favorite machine. LOTS of good memories attached to that one. So yes, there are still Odyssey 2 fans lurking out here!
