I got mine in today's mail, and I have to say the whole hobby ought to applaud this one. It tells an interesting story, it doesn't skimp on technical detail, and yet it's very, very readable. Outstanding stuff!
I think everyone's just got more Cool Stuff to show this year. I'm already working on this year's presentation, hopefully even bigger and better than last year's, and maybe a smidge less cluttered.
Let's not even go there - it's a matter of which forum happened to have awake admins at the time. I appreciate the info you guys had available over here.
I'm trying to raise the alarm over there - thanks for the confirmation. I had a baaaaad feeling about that, especially since I hadn't heard of any such changes (and I'm an admin over there, so you'd think I would have).
If you have any of the older Odyssey dedicated consoles - i.e. Odyssey 100-4000 - those AC adaptors will work with the O2 as well. If all else fails, you can usually eBay one of the Odyssey x00/x000 consoles for a couple of bucks.
If you're looking for a more authentic Qix fix, and can play imports, I strongly suggest 3-in-1 Arcade Classics.
If you're anywhere near OVGE in June, swing by the Phosphor Dot Fossils table - I almost always have this lovely bit of vintage goodness with me.
Sorry, just found this thread. Make that one vote for Mr. Do's Castle. I was quite a big fan of that one back in the day when I actually had the cart. (I also had Q*Bert's Qubes - loaned them both to my nephew and never saw 'em again. )
Thanks to Crossbow, my original Vader 2600 is reborn. I imagine the scene probably went something like this:
Crossbow: PDF's Vader.
PDF's Vader 2600: Yes, my master.
Crossbow: Rise!
And the rest is history.
Discs of Tron is barely affected by it, since it had a more or less horizontal display. Tron's vertical display is "squished," but you can still see everything just fine. I'm a big fan of both games, and was very happy with how they turned out.
I think something went awry with the Als' attempt to install a flux capacitor in their server. Little did they know it'd need to be able to withstand 1.21 gigawatts of electricity...
Considering that all three of the existing games are on the Atari Anthology collection, I'd say it's safe to assume they're reasserting their intellectual property rights on everything Swordquest, so these titles are not "in the clear."
