    Black out day internet

    Today is the day where websites go down to protest against SOPA.
     
    I thought some websites servers were down but it's not the case.
     
    Wikipedia (English version) failed:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page
     
    If you stop the page's loading quickly before it is loaded completely, the message against SOPA wasn't show up. You can still do research.
     
    Newgrounds failed:
    Only the main page on the Newgrounds has the against SOPA message. Elsewhere works normaly.

    If I were a politician, I won't care if the websites are down or not.
     
    It does not mean I approve SOPA. Politicians do everything. Sometimes is good. Sometimes is bad.

    I didn't find any information about this sequel. Few websites says FVJ 2 is just a rumor.
     
    Is it true? Is Freddy Vs Jason 2 coming?
     
    Why Goggle would display FvJ 2 if this sequel is only a rumor?

    I subscribe to internet since 1997. At the time, the time is the limit.
     
     
     
     
    Today, the limit is not about the time you spend in the internet but how much megs you get. (Sorry for my Engrish).
     
    My limit's 1 gig. It's look you have plenty of megs surfing on the internet.
     
    But when downloading patches for games, 1 gig is not enough.
     
    The last the sims 3 patch is about 650 megs. If I download another patch of this size or even bigger, You could use 1 gig in one day. and paying for extra megs.

    After I turned my computer (Pentium Celeron) on and everything is loaded, I got this ONE?
     

     
    WHAT IS THAT?
     
    No USB devices are used at this time. Do I have problem with my computer?
    Is it the time to buy a new one?
     
    I'm using this computer from 2000 and never happened until now.
     
    I hope this is not a serious problem.

    dial 10 numbers

    I live in Canada. Few days ago, I dial 7 numbers to call somebody but in June 25th 2008, when I was entering in internet, the operator talked unstead the modem's noise.
     
    From now, I dial 10 numbers to call some body. the region number + the phone number.
    I don't know if this happen everywhere in north america as well.

    If I didn't blog in April, that's because I was busy with my projects.
     
     
    Lode Runner
     
    I played Lode Runner. It's a classic game from Broderbund. The other classic from Broderbund is Where in the world is Carmen Sandiego.
     
    The main objectif is simple: take all the chests in the level by avoid bad guys and climb up at the highest ladder to go to the next level. A level editor is also available so you can make more levels.
     

     
    While I have no problem with this game, some levels like this screen shot make me
    frustration. This is a dead end. The last chest is out of reach and bad guys are traped.
     
    I have no choice by either cheating go to the next level or quit the game.
    Very frustation when you want to beat your own score.

    I edited Serguei's destiny, 3D engine and Half-Death categories by putting the screenshots at the right places.
     
    I noted in the first Half-Death blog, all the screenshots are missing. Here the link:

    Checking ScummVm

    ScummVm is an engine let you to play Maniac mansion, Zak McKracken and other games using Lucasfilm's scumm.
     
    Also, you can play Sierra AGI games and fanmade games with ScummVm.

    Kari Salminen asked me to check games using agipal to make sure they can play with ScummVn. I use a beta version of ScummVm.
     
    Most games work well, only two still have problem with ScummVm.
     
    Naturette 2: Nothing serious but the palettes seen not to work.
    (edit: the palettes in Naturette 2 work. For some reasons, I didn't pay attention of that. It was late and i was tired. Sorry for that.)

    When I was a kid, I like buying comic books. Most of time, it was 12
    issues for a year. Those comics could be read for kids.
     
    Today is another thing. Not only the comic books cost $2.99, but some
    series could be more than 12 issues for a year. I saw ones with 17 issue in a year.
     
    Comic books don't use comic code authority, are designed from teens to
    adults. I don't know if a clerk let a kid to buy teens/adults comic
    books since I don't have children.
     
    I know some kids can't buy comic books today.

    My first computer I bought was IBM PCjr in 1986. It became my favorite computer.
     
    At this time, IBM and compatibles don't have hard drive. You must play games from disquettes. Most of time, you have to insert a boost disk, turn on the computer, remove the boost disk, and insert disk game. You must type 'something'(1) and press Enter.
     
    The drawback of the pc at this time, you have to type something to load a game while Macintosh, Atari St and Amiga and maybe other computers, it's easier to load a game.
     
    IBM PC and compatibles have similar hardwares so programming for PC are easier.
     
    In 1995, Microsoft released Windows 95. Since 1995, playing games are easier than ever.
     
    Today, it's become painful to make games to run becaise the players must check theirs hardwares, some games work only on graphics 16 bit not 32 bit. so the players must change the graphics setting. Some games support Nvidia, some games don't support it.
     
    While PC dominates the market, not two PC have the same hardwares nor the same
    OS. Not everybody upgrated theirs pcs to Vista and some people still use win98 like me.
     
    I think today's games are buggier than in 80s.

    Hi everybody
     
    I worked on Naturette IV today.
     
    We're talking about the teleporter devices in Naturette 4.
     

    As you see, you can travel from planets forth and back using teleporters like this one. All you need is to find codes to access different worlds.
     

    At the begin of the game, Naturette was trapped in the clock tower with her boy friend, Jasper, naked.
     
    I'll don't tell you how did Naturette get naked untill I finished the game.
     

    Naturette is in Fairyland. Naturette's location is displayed on the top of the screen. Different worlds will display different locations. I almost finished this world.
     

    I just begun this world. I'll tell you more things about this planet.
     
    By the way, Naturette should be careful here: She must not get hit by lightnings.

    I worked on my GOOMW today.

    I managed to tell the player hit 5 times to the enemy to beat down.


    I used this formula: if x player and x enemy is less than 16 pixels, punch it!
     


    I would use check_collision but I decided my method is better.
     


    YOU ARE IN MY WAY! TAKE THAT!


    Defeated. I hope he learnt his lesson.

    I worked on GET OUT OF MY WAY!, a colecovision brawler game.



    A new room is added.

    Also I worked on the fighter sprites again. I hate seeing backgrounds through the fighters.


    I took another look at the 40 columns text mode.



    The first thing I noted is if I type print_at(0,1,"1234567890123456789012345678901234567890");,
    it will show at 33th column of the same line instead to the next line.

    Maybe there are tricks to do it right.

    I have an idea using this mode. A text game?

    I watched a trailer of a upcoming movie.




    Pikachu's voice is more mature here and he speaks like us.

    I wonder if this movie is based from Detective Pikachu from 3DS game.

    I can't wait to read reviews of this movie.

    GOOMW! new demo

    I worked on Get Out Of My Way, a brawler/beat'em up game for Colecovision.



    What's new:

    - More bad guys to punch. Ouch!

    - You can beat down the ennemies at any order.

    - Three rooms to deal with.


    I noted there some lags or slowdown in the game.

    Bad guys won't fight. They will someday.

    Fallout

    I checked my old cds from magazines and I found a demo of Fallout.

    Since this game was praised by many players, I decided to try it.

    To play this demo on windows 10, set to windows 95 compatible.



    Fallout is a game about a desolate world when few people survives.

    The little village runs by two gangs: fools and crypts.

    The crypts is the dominant gang because they have a generator for the whole village.


    Thanks to remind me it's just a demo. Also I can't save or load either.

    When the game starts, I have to join a gang either Crypts or Fools.

    Peasants are angry toward you no matter you choose either gangs.


    Good dog.

    The problem with this demo is, I always get killed quickly.

    Either I choose a gang, I can't stay alive for more 10 minutes.


    I can't leave the village. Yuck!

    For my first impression: Fallout is not a game for me unless I go further.

    Minecraft New 3DS edition crashed six times yesterday at the same spot.



    There were at least 8 ghasts or more around the corner that makes the game to crash.

    Even if Mojang dropped
    New 3DS edition, I still enjoy it to play.
