I don't know how things become sticky here, but... I've always preferred people link to or mirror the latest versions of the FAQs, rather than posting standalone copies of them elsewhere. Static copies get old and obsolete fast. As you know, nowadays my preferred web mirror for the 8-bit Atari FAQs is at http://www.cs.uu.nl/wais/html/na-dir/atari-8-bit/.html . That Utrecht University site still reliably mirrors the mother Usenet FAQ FTP archive at MIT, which keeps the latest comp.sys.atari.8bit newsgroup FAQs in several locations: - ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-group/comp.sys.atari.8bit/ - ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet-by-hierarch...sys/atari/8bit/ - ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/faqs/atari-8-bit/ The advantage of the Utrecht University site over the source MIT site is that web addresses are turned into hyperlinks. Thanks. Believe me, I wish there was a way. All I can do is encourage people to use other Usenet FAQ archives that still sync properly with news.answers. Eventually the problem will go away when the faqs.org domain expires, I suppose.

The FAQ will be adjusted, since there were obviously some 1200XL's made in the USA!

What is the proper player for the *.TMC files from Forever 8? Theta Music Computer 1.11? Theta Music Composer 2.0? (both found at http://jaskier.atari8.info/index_en.html) Are there other TMC players that run on the Atari?

Has anyone gotten Caverns of the Lost Miner running on real Atari hardware? Or more specifically, real NTSC Atari hardware? We wanted to feature this game on a SPACE club DOM, but a couple of us can't get it to run. The machine freezes very early in the process of loading the game. I've tried SDX, MYDOS, and DOS 2.5, with or without BASIC loaded. Works for me fine in Atari800WinPLus 4.0 emulating NTSC hardware. Thanks.

Yes, SPACE still meets 2nd Friday of every month at the Falcon Heights Community Center, 7:30pm start time. That time and location has been constant since the mid 1980's! Details at the club web site.

However, we have had several "remote" members, who join SPACE primarily for access to our DOMs. Remote memberships and remote purchase of DOMs are handled through one of our club members who is able to take credit card payments.
