That doesn't mean much. They can go to Atari's website to find information on it, but they can just as easily order it from Amazon, especially if they're ordering more than one item. Again, your number is nothing more than just a guess, and I'd say probably not an accurate one at that.
-
How are you coming to that conclusion? No one here (except for Atari employees who have access to the data) has any idea how many have been preordered directly from Atari. Saying it's "safe to say" doesn't mean anything. I can just as easily claim that Atari has only sold 1k preorders through their website, which could be closer to the truth than the number you stated. At best, both numbers are uneducated guesses.

I'm sure your wish will be granted soon enough.

Would there be support for a rebranded Jaguar Bomberman game?
Sauron replied to Gunther's topic in Atari Jaguar
Wasn't the developer of the unreleased Jag Bomberman working on finishing the game? -
PiStorm - Ultimate CPU/RAM/Graphics solution for STs! Join in!
Sauron replied to uji's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I wasn't aware of the V4SA project, that one looks pretty cool as well. And yes, like you said, they're hardly competitors. If they can have all of these cool toys for the Amiga, then we can have them for the ST. I don't see multiple options being a bad thing. -
PiStorm - Ultimate CPU/RAM/Graphics solution for STs! Join in!
Sauron replied to uji's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
I love the whole idea of the PiStorm, and had been wondering why we hadn't seen anything like this as of yet for the ST...until I saw some of the replies on this thread. Why the snobbish attitude towards it? The PiStorm has a lot of advantages over many other drop-in replacements or emulation boxes, the biggest of which is that it allows you to continue using your original ST system while upgrading it with much faster speeds and other QoL improvements. Is it relying on emulation? Yes, but does that really matter? I'd be happy to lend a hand to the project if I had the expertise to do so, but unfortunately I don't even own an ST at the moment. it would be great if some others are able to lend a hand, and I hope uji isn't discouraged by the responses he's gotten so far. -
Do you prefer the recharged games or the original version's ?
Sauron replied to JPF997's topic in Atari General
A game about Vikings with "The Immigrant Song" as the theme would rock. As far as music during gameplay, it depends on the game. Some games are better for it (Rome: Total War comes to mind, T2K, etc.), while others can be extremely distracting. Thankfully, most modern games give you the option to adjust the volume of the different audio elements or disable them entirely. EDIT: Just to add, I agree about Xevious' music, although I know that's sacreligious to some. But I don't care, annoying is annoying. -

If I were still a global mod here, I'd tell everyone to chill and to stay civil. However, I'm not, so I'll just say that bringing some Led Zeppelin into this discussion is a good idea. And speaking of which, there's an awesome guy on YouTube who has a channel focused on Led Zeppelin, and he's done several series going over different parts of the band's past, including the post-Led Zeppelin eras of the 80s and 90s. If you're as into Led Zeppelin as I am, I'd highly recommend checking it out: https://www.youtube.com/@JCM-LedZeppelin-Stories Anyways, carry on. -

You might want to post this in the Atari ST forum. You'll get more eyes from ST users there.

Atari VCS Store Order Number High-Score :)
Sauron replied to Mockduck's topic in VCS High Score Club
Yes, a lot of us are unable to make purchases through the VCS store, getting an error saying that our ZIP code is invalid. I haven't been able to purchase anything for the last week, and longer than that for others. -

I think you guys are being rather harsh on JPF997. All of you old farts are gonna scare the kiddies away. This isn't an "Old Men Only" club. -

Now this game looks impressive. Day 1 purchase for me for sure.

It's the power of the fumes. Inhaling them allows one to drastically slow down the perception of time.
-
Now that we're back on topic, it's time for the most important question of this thread: Did you get a free speakerhat?
-
I don't remember if it hits the 60fps threshold, but in later levels it definitely drops frames.

This is an asinine question. Albert has run this website for over 20 years and has been an active and reliable producer of homebrew games during that time. Not once has he ever promised something and then failed to deliver. To compare him to Tommy Tallarico in any fashion is beyond ridiculous.

The Gem Collector (by Treefall Studios) - (in VCS Store)
Sauron replied to Atari_JaguarVCS's topic in Atari VCS
This game looks pretty decent, and the price definitely can't be beat. It's just too bad Atari hasn't fixed the zip code bug yet.... -
Bentley Bear : The Unspoken Atari Mascot
Sauron commented on doctorclu's blog entry in Atari Jaguar Game Mascots
I've always liked the idea of Bentley Bear being the Atari mascot. I'd like to see this trend continue! -
Why bother discussing physical media? In case some of you haven't realized, fast broadband access is pretty ubiquitous now. Besides, if you're trying to make a game that rivals AAA games on XBox and PS5 in size, then the VCS is probably not your target platform.

Haven't watched the full video yet, but the Gamestation Pro looks to be more impressive than I thought it would be.

Bubsy 3D on the Atari Jaguar (Not a clickbait)
Sauron replied to KidGameR186496's topic in Atari Jaguar
That's always been my thoughts on that game as well. Of all games to want ported to the Jag, Bubsy 3D, well, has never been on my list. -

I've been following that thread from the very beginning, and nowhere did he threaten to stop developing games. Being discouraged by piracy /= threatening to stop development. Learn the difference. -

Um, when has CJ ever threatened that?
