  1. That all sounds like a complete overhaul of the game. Can't wait to see it in action!
  2. Remastered by the original devs? Nice. Would one day like to hear the story of how that came about.
  3. Less realistic, yes, in the sense that there are more supernatural elements. But these tie in closely with Norse mythology, so such a diversion from realism more or less depicts the beliefs of the people rather than rooting it in factual depictions of actions. The historical accuracy that I'm referring to has to do with how culture is depicted in the film.
  4. This video dropped earlier today, showing off some of the new gameplay mechanics and special abilities in TOTK. Looks like they took the idea of experimentation from BOTW and ran with it. Can't wait for this game to release.
  5. On a totally unrelated (but far more interesting) topic, the film The Northman is pretty much a retelling of Hamlet, but set during the Viking age, and is far more accurate in its depiction of the people of that era than any other film I've seen. I highly recommend it if you haven't seen it already.
  6. You're probably going to want a Gotek for both systems first and foremost, as that will not only be much more convenient to use than actual floppies, but also makes it much easier to transfer downloaded files from a PC. I'd recommend that before looking at anything else. Fortunately, they're not very expensive.
  7. Well, thanks to recent developments, you don't need a Jaguar to do Jag development. And if it comes to testing anything on actual hardware, there is no shortage of people who would be more than willing to help you out in that department.
  8. Can't believe no one has recommended Downfall yet.
  9. Am I the only one who cringes when I read something I wrote almost 20 years ago? Ugh. Anyway, the advice above is recommended. When it came to copying or moving files in TOS, it was always better to use a third party utility, as native TOS file transfers are notoriously slow, especially on older versions.
  10. Looks nice! And a good variety of systems too.
  11. MK would be the most <insert your own word here> game on the Atari Jaguar.
  12. I think some people need to take some strong chill pills around here. A Mortal Kombat PoC should not involve so much hostility...
  13. I'd say that would be a must for MK.
  14. I'll admit it here, I never gave the Lynx version of Scrapyard Dog much of a chance, due to a number of reasons. The primary one being, of course, that I played the 7800 version first. Like what was stated before, though, the 7800 and Lynx versions are like two totally different games. Hearing this praise for the game has gotten me curious, though. Just wish I could find my Lynx...
  15. I doubt they're in cahoots. If anything, he was probably just trying to tweak the noses of some of us here by doing that.
  16. I don't think "exciting" is the word I would use...
  17. Regardless of what that PoC does or doesn't show, it's still more Mortal Kombat than what we've had on the Jag over all these years. I'd love to see it taken further, and wouldn't mind pitching in if I can.
  18. It's Russophobia, no matter how. you try to slice it. But this particular topic has no place in this thread, so let's please leave the stupid politics out of it.
  19. Привет, XProger. Nevermind the naysayers and general Russophobia, would be nice to see what you can do.
  20. Why play Doom when you can play Quake? Why play a SNES game when you can play an N64 game? This is kind of a stupid question to ask in the Jaguar forum.
  21. We've had threads that are far worse go on for much, much longer. Stop acting surprised, you've been around these parts for far too long to fool anyone.
  22. Cybermorph was an ok game for its time. People like to slag on it now, but when it was released there really wasn't any kind of 3D "open world" type game, so the comparisons to Star Fox were valid. The main problem is that the game aged horribly pretty quickly, as it didn't take long for games on other consoles to make it look dated. Plus, like others have stated, the "search for pods" gameplay got monotonous. I always got bored with the game no matter how many times I tried to go through and beat it.
  23. If you want to touch the sky you must be prepared to die, and I hate cough syrup don't you....

  24. Problems like this have come up here several times in the past, and there's never been a "one-thing-fixes-all" solution for it. Outside of cleaning the cart slot and the leads on the carts, also make sure that none of the pins in the cart slot are bent (even a very slight bend can lead to problems), and that there's nothing that may have fallen in there that may prevent a perfect fit for the carts (although this doesn't seem to be the case for you). Outside of that, there's been some carts that I could never get to work properly no matter what I tried, and that was usually evidenced by the cart having a different fit in the slot than most others. Again, though, with this happening with most of your carts, I doubt it's the issue with all of them. Would be interested in hearing if you do end up figuring out a permanent solution.
  25. There's been a few people like you who have trickled into the Jag scene over the years, but it has never had an effect on "increasing" interest in the Jag as a game console with fun games. The Jaguar will never have the same level of support for it like the Genesis did, with its millions of units sold and reputation as one of the best game consoles of all time. Which is why commercial-level developers can make games for it and reasonably expect to make some money off of it (and even then, they end up having to port those games to other platforms in order to increase sales...). The same simply won't ever be true of the Jag, no matter how wishful our thinking is.
