  1. Actually, on some of the pre-red label games, the box print date doesn't (exactly) match-up with the cart manufactured date. So be careful not to assume on these red-label runs that the cart, box and instructions were produced within the same time period.
  2. Yeah I know, but odds on if I had not had asked... Anyway, they could have at least replied and told me to get a life.
  3. His reply about me picking them up when I pay COD was: "NO I will accept cheque or postal order or bankers draft only and send the games when the payment has cleared , but they will be securely packaged. many thanks for your intrest :-)" Phew! At least they will be securely packaged. He also states that he is no expert but knows that Glib is by selchow & richter/qdi. So where does it say that on the cart or instructions? Surely he would have written Selchow & Righter Company...
  4. I guess you will have all seen this by now: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATARI-2600-GAMES-MEG...1QQcmdZViewItem The seller (who incidently has zero feedback) mentions: "i dug these out of the attic" "i`m no game expert" "to me these are just old games" "i got a friend to test them on his old atari console machine" "he also said there was a few games here that are quite collectable" No shit. So, is this the biggest discovery, or just the most blatant scam of recent times?
  5. It's not just the red boxes. Nearly all of the Atari boxes have these same date stamps. I mentioned back in http://www.atariage.com/forums/index.php?s...c=74156&hl= that it is an easy way to determine a variation change by just comparing the date stamp. The company that did the printing is also on there. I have contacted a few of the companies to find out some of their Atari printing history (runs, dates, quanities etc) but nobody replied.
  6. I have updated the owners list in post number 5, but do not want to hijack the thread from jboypacman! However, what is the consensus of opinion, should a tally be kept or not?
  7. So, Do we keep a tally of those who own chuckwagon? For the ayes, we get greater visibility on how many there are. For the nays, we may find it's not so rare after all. Is it better to live in ignorance? Personally I believe in debunking any rarity myths, despite what I paid for this game!
  8. I have a copy, and reading through the 'Rarity 8 List' thread an ownership list could look like this: kiai homerwannabee Keir Atarimania75 Crunchysuperman 20eyes Wonder007 Zeus keilbaca AtariAger MegaManFan Trade-N-Games CPUWIZ therealred5 black dog wrldstrman Marco MattG/Snyper2099 Atari-dj atari_wizard sku_u Mayhem (well, his other half anyway) Ed Siegler Waggie robsbucs ROLENTA Zwackery plaidbraid3141 Bruce Tomlin neonesmaster (x6) which is 29/12433 or 0.25% of the AtariAge members. So, if anybody else would like to contribute their name...
  9. Oh yeah? Well I play PS3 games on my record deck. Mind you, they perform no better than PS2 games did.
  10. The problem with this medium is that emotion is lost in electronic translation. There is no malice intended, its just idle banter, which can as you pointed out unfortunately lead to chastisement. Neil (isellgames4u) does has fantastic feedback, and that is why I had no qualms about bidding. He has emailed me a few times, and his patience with regard me paying has been saintly. Why do we become antsy about a dealer who refuses to use PayPal? I am quick to admit my guilt in suspecting that if a seller only allows me to pay in a manner that affords me no protection, then he must be a naughty boy. I have no reason to believe this is the case here, but as ataripitbull mentioned it sets alarms bells ringing. If anyone is reading this and thinking that PayPal is the be-all-and-end-all then check the thread regarding the horror stories. There are some 3rd degree burns in there... Thanks for your reassurance regarding Neil, he has a good friend in you. And damn, I want those games!
  11. It will be my first negative if I do, but like you I feel that's a small price to pay compared to $200. For all of PayPal's faults (yes I have read the complete thread), at least I would get some protection. Damn I want those games!
  12. I set up the Western Union money transfer online (ohmygodhowmuchcommission? ) and then had to call it in to verify that I wanted to send the cash (I pay them around 15%, give them my telephone number, and then I have to call them - you would think they could afford the call! ). After all that, the rep then really advised me not to send the cash. I mean 'really, strongly, adamantly' advised me not to send the cash. I emailed isellgames4u to ask why Western Union would do this. That was 3 days ago, and no reply yet. Wales is beautiful as ever, it's just a shame about that lump of crap sticking out from the side of it. You know, England (ow!, sorry honey). Actually we live in Germany (Army), but only for 10 more days and then I am posted to Cambridge, which despite being in England is very nice (ow!). Shame on you for removing your flag, especially in favour of a TRON poster. I was sad to remove mine from the office this week, but it will be flying strong in Cambridge.
  13. oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh... aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh... very nice and much easier on the eye, but I have to ask: how much free time do you have!
  14. The PUZZY games in my opinion are the two most under rated NTSC games there are, yes even rarer then the NTSC BOMB games. This is the first time I have ever seen CIB Puzzy games for sale and I thought they would pull 1k a piece in my opinion but like I said, they are under rated as far as rarity.....very very hard to find games. Now there PAL equals that are made by Bit Corp are super commons. both Puzzy games (boxed) went for about £50 each last November on ebay.co.uk, just as I was starting my collection, but I was too scared to bid. doh!
