1. The new expansion is supposed to have a lot more for small groups to do (2-4 people) than the previous ones. I don't know for sure since I haven't gotten it yet, that is just what I heard. Jeff
2. Most of the replies to topics like these are about how xxxx is way too expensive and how it should cost no more than a similar game system. That's like saying all cars should cost the same amount. If it does more or has more bells and whistles, it's probably going to cost more, simple as that. I am just waiting for E3, so we can find out what is going to be included in the PS3 and how much it is going to cost. The more it costs, the less people will be in line to buy one. Jeff
3. For me it would be a sit-down Atari Star Wars machine. ^^ Jeff
4. Got mine. The owners manual is great! Now all I need to do is find some time to try it out. Jeff
5. PSP can connect to a Tv and almost has the power of a PS2.... 1028477 Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades. Maybe in another 20 years or so they might be able to miniturize everything enough to make a portable that is really as powerful as a home console. I think the biggest problems in accomplishing that are more than likely overheating and battery life issues. Jeff
6. It looks like the PS3 will be delayed by the Advanced Access Content System Licensing Administrator (AACS LA) along with everything else. They determine how the new blu-ray discs are copy protected. I'm sure they'll drag their feet as long as the movie industry (and maybe other interested parties/competitors) want them to. None of the hardware or software manufacturers can actually finish making their next-gen products until the AACS is finalized. Hopefully it happens sooner rather than later. May always seems so far away. Jeff
7. We probably won't get any real news on PS3's on-line capabilities until E3 in May but here is an interesting article from Team Xbox about the possibilities: http://editorials.teamxbox.com/xbox/1481/P...Live-Killer/p1/ Jeff
8. They do actually, but you have to unlock them on Medium first. Once you have the song unlocked you can go to the free play mode and select a lower difficulty. Although some of the more difficult songs like Bark at the Moon are really dumb when simplified to the Easy level. Tempest 1015120 I was referring to Guitar Freaks needing easy versions of all the songs. ^^ Jeff
9. I can't wait to get mine either! All hail King Curt! ^^ Jeff
10. Guitar Freaks' difficulty ramps up a lot faster than Guitar Hero no doubt about it. It would be nice if every song had an easy version so you could at least try them out. One of the best parts about GF is that the notes you miss sound off key (instead of just a plink) making it feel a lot more like your actually playing the song. The other part I like is that in 2 player mode you play as a team, which I think is a lot more fun also. The one thing I really don't like about GH is that they purposely made the guitar controller not work with GF. That's just $%**&!@#. The off brand controllers work with both games except that in GH you can't move down in a menu, otherwise the songs play fine. Now if they would just put the best parts of both games together they would have the best game ever. ^^ Jeff
11. I haven't played the game much lately but it is a lot of fun. There's a link to a pic of the guitar stand I made below. Other than filing the manufacturer info off the fittings, it wasn't too hard to build. ^^ Jeff http://www.angelfire.com/theforce/jedijeff/misc.html
12. I would have to say Crystal Castles definitely! Jeff
13. I'm pretty sure Steve is right. I remember playing that game on the ST. Jeff
14. I picked the laserdisc player. It was another idea way ahead of it's time. I eventually got a laserdisc player just so I could watch the original widescreen versions of movies and not that pan&scan crap. It's still the best way to watch the original Star Wars movies. Jeff
15. It just depends on what you want it for. If you want it to play games I would say check out the DS. If you want it for games, movies, music and internet access check out the PSP. Jeff
16. Considering that the first generation of HDdvd/BluRay players are $499 and up, $500 for a PS3 doesn't sound bad at all. We'll just have to wait and see if they announce anything at E3. Jeff
17. Actually, the uprights used 19" Amplifone monitors. The WG's were used as replacements because they had a lot of problems with the transformers on the Amplifones. Jeff
18. Good to finally see another 7800 high score club. I hope my 7800 still works. Hopefully I'll be able to post a score this weekend. Jeff
19. I'm in the same boat. Glitch or no glitch, it's still a friggen hard game! 943404 I think the key to winning is finding the music rooms and getting as many snooze cards as you can. Jeff
20. If you can rent a dance pad with Dance Dance Revolution I would say give it a try. I remember seeing DDR Max bundled with a decent pad for under $40 a while ago, but it might have been a special sale. One note, you don't have to be coordinated to have fun. ^^ Ratchet and Clank is about $15 - $20. Jeff
21. The best part about getting a PS2 now is that there are a lot of great games at budget prices. Here are a few I would recommend: Burnout 3 Any Ratchet and Clank game Any DDR game The Simpsons Hit and Run Any Grand Theft Auto game Monster Rancher 4 Those are just a few I could think of at the moment. Have fun. ^^ Jeff
22. Namco Museum sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Anyone know what the price will be? Jeff
23. I had a few of those a while back (when they were actually worth something), and I thought they looked pretty cool also. It's the only stock I have ever owned. Fortunately they were sold a long time ago too, for a small profit. ^^ Jeff
24. I might get a Flashback 2.0, just depends on the reviews. A few games are interesting but I'll wait and see on those. I'll definitely get a PS3 if there aren't any drastic changes to the hardware. It seems like it is being made to last 10 years instead of 5. The ability to play HD movies is a big extra. I just wonder if it will be under $600. ^^ Jeff
