  1. I decided to sell my AIRCARS cartridge. Here is the link if anyone is interested: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260197714344
  2. I'd have to disagree on this. I would say go buy High Velocity Bowling instead.
  3. There are 2 things about the guncon 3 that I find absurd: 1 - You can't start a game with the guncon. You have to use another controller or set your console to auto-start discs. 2 - There is no PS button on the controller so you have to use another controller to quit a game. WTF is up with that? I wish they would make a new Point Blank game for the PS3 and include a guncon with a ps button at the very least.
  4. If that's the guy with all the blades on his back, try using the right analog stick to dodge when he starts an attack. That will keep you away from those nasty red unstoppable attacks. If you can block his next attack then he will be open for you to attack if I remember correctly. She blocks automatically so all you have to do is make sure you're in the right stance, either speed or power(R1.) Hope that helps.
  5. Wii Sports bowling is a fun mini-game. High Velocity bowling is more of a complete game. Now if you just want to bowl, then it is very easy to pick up and play a game with 4 people, just like Wii bowling, but it has a lot more depth to it than any other bowling game I remember. The different bowlers you can choose from have varying ability ratings. The lanes have different oiling patterns. There are lots of different bowling balls that have their own hook rating. You can easily switch between left-handed and right-handed bowling. There are tournaments, one-on-one battles, and trick-shot competitions to enter where you unlock more characters, bowling balls and trophies. You can also earn a lot of patches by converting different spares and bowling high games and high series. All together it makes for a nice reward system, and a good incentive to improve your game. The game shows you how to hold the controller and I think it works really well. You basically hold the controller vertically, tilting it left and right to position your character on the approach and pushing X to set where you want to stand. Then you tilt the controller left and right to control your aiming arrow on the lane, and push X to set in in place. Now your bowler approaches the lane and you swing the controller like a regular bowling swing. How fast you swing forward determines how hard you throw the ball. If you throw it too hard the power bar will turn red and your throws won't be as accurate, so try to keep it in the green. The analog L2 and R2 buttons are used to put spin on the ball. How much spin depends on how hard you hold in the button. If you want to throw the ball straight, just don't push in L2 or R2. L3 and R3 turns on or off the oiling pattern overlay. You can leave it on the whole game if you want. Getting your swing speed down probably won't take very long. The bigger challenge is holding in the L2 or R2 button where you want. After a bit of practice I'm sure anyone could get the hang of it, and if you can't you can always throw it straight. Last but not least, the game lets you use your own music. All you have to do is press the Select button and it will bring up your music list. Definitely a nice extra. I think it's the best bowling game I have ever played, and I hope a lot of other people will enjoy it as much as I do.
  6. I played this game for a couple hours last night and thought it was a lot of fun. There is a bit of a learning curve but once you learn to keep your power in the green zone it's a lot easier. I like that there are different oil patterns on the lanes depending on where you bowl. There is a nice reward system for improving your game, with unlockable characters, bowling balls and lots of patches to collect. It's a lot of fun and will make a great party game imho. The custom soundtrack option is a nice little extra as well. It's the best bowling game I have ever played and it was only $10. I'll definitely get my money's worth out of this one.
  7. EA is handling the port, so it was a safe guess it wouldn't be done well. I was really interested in the game until I found out EA was doing it. It went from a release day purchase to 'is it $10 yet?'
  8. From what I have read, if you like card games like magic then you will probably enjoy EOJ. EOJ is easier to play because you don't have to remember all the rules. Another thing that may influence your decision is the downloadable games that are starting to appear on the ps store. Right now there are only 2 that use the ps eye but more are on the way.
  9. Unfortunately they are all going for $500+ these days. I see almost every single one end for $400+ and if it has a box expect way more than $500. Get one while you can! I have seen the price rise pretty steady since 2003 when I bought mine for around $325. The problem is, the Falcon is just a neat curiosity for me. I'd never use it to its full potential. I'd rather it go to someone who would actually use it for something. Tempest That's the problem I have with mine. I've owned one for quite a few years but have never really had the time to do anything with it. I should probably sell it while there is still an interest in them. Decisions decisions.
  10. 'Tis a sad, sad day jedijeff.... THE jedijeff? If you're referring to the maker of jedijeff's rotary controller, then that would be me.
  11. After much debate I have finally decided to place my BattleSphere cartridge up for auction. Here is the link : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...em=260184259209 Thanks for any interest and good luck with your bidding. Jeff
  12. I've played a lot of bad games, and Lair is not one of them. The control issue that always comes up has more to do with the person playing than with the controller or it's implementation in the game. I disagree. The game is piss poor. It would have been decent if they didn't insist on the sixaxis. Is that after you actually tried to play it or do you just dislike motion controls in general? You have played it right? Everyone that has tried it on my PS3 has gotten used to the sensitivity pretty quickly. Granted, that is only 3 other people, but none of them had problems with the motion controls.

  14. For anyone interested, Calling All Cars for the PS3 is on sale through the PSN store for $4.99 until Oct. 25th. I think it is a game well worth that price. It's definitely a great party game. Now if only a few more games would drop a couple dollars in price I would get them too.
  15. Rumor has it that the 40GB PS3 will debut in N.A. at the beginning of November. The european 40GB PS3 doesn't have PS2 backwards compatability so the U.S. version probably won't have it either. If you want to be able to play PS2 games then I would say go for either the 20GB or the 60GB versions. Imho, the extras you get with the 60GB version are well worth the extra $100.
  16. The best place I have found for getting PS1 games is Goozex. It's a great way to trade games you no longer play for something new. So far I have sent out 10 games and received 23 games. Even if you don't have any games to trade, you can buy 100 points for $5, and there are a lot of good games available for 100 points. Here's a link to check it out: http://www.goozex.com/trading/asp/join.asp?idr=4790924744
  17. I was hoping for years Clay would finish his multi-exidy project. Good to see someone had time to make one. Do you have any more information on this? Web page link? Thanks. Jeff
  18. Has anyone else tried the demo? I thought it was pretty good. It reminds me of the easy to pick up and play games of long ago. It's just your basic slot car racer with huge tracks, lots of play modes and up to 7 people can play at the same time. Next time my friends visit we'll have to try the multiplayer and see how good a party game it is. It's $6.99 +tax from the PSN store. Here's hoping PixelJunk's future games are as good or better than this one. They are supposed to have 2 more available by the end of the year from what I read. Anybody that likes old-school games will probably like it, so give the demo a try. Fun stuff.
  19. I have it pre-ordered through familyvideo.com for $49.95. I'm looking forward to playing it.
  20. If you buy a PS3 from Amazon.com you can get 3 free movies from amazon along with the mail-in offer for 5 more free movies. Here's the link : http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/ref=...rd_i=B0009VXAM0
  21. Hey all, I was just wondering who played the Warhawk beta and what were your impressions. I am still on the fence whether or not I will buy it. The retail version with the headset looks like the one to get, but I really need to know how much fun it was. The biggest draw for me is being able to play with 3 other people on 1 console. Did anyone get to try that out? General impressions from anyone that has played it would be greatly appreciated.
  22. I noticed 2 price drops on downloadable games from the Playstation Network Store for anyone interested. Super Rub-a-Dub is $2.99 and Calling All Cars is $7.99. I don't know if these are temporary or not. Just thought I would let you know.
  23. A few people have posted about their dealing with family video on cag and they were all positive. The only other info I have is from their merchant review score from pricegrabber: http://reviews.pricegrabber.com/familyvideocom/r/3678/ Hope that helps.
  24. I mentioned this in another thread but just in case anyone missed it, Family Video has some nice deals on pre-orders for a few PS3 games. I put a couple of links below to the 2 most popular ones. Lair : http://shop.famvid.com/catalog/product_inf...ducts_id=276361 Heavenly Sword : http://shop.famvid.com/catalog/product_inf...ducts_id=276189 Shipping is only $0.99 and if it's still in effect, new customers can use the 'NEWPGMEM' coupon code for another $5 off. Last but not least, returning customers can use coupon code 'NEWMEM3F' for $3 off, if it is still in effect. Enjoy.
  25. I thought the Heavenly Sword demo was pretty fun, even though it was incredibly short. The combat system is pretty deep. I like the variety of attacks and the way you can counter-attack. I played through the demo a few times just to try different attacks, and they are a lot of fun to do. It's nice to have a game that is more than just mindless button mashing like Dynasty Warriors. Also, even though it's not long enough to reveal much of the story, I already like it more than God of War's (if kill everything counts a story that is.) If anyone is interested in pre-ordering this, Family Video has it for $49.97 and $0.99 shipping. If it's still in effect, new customers can use the 'NEWPGMEM' coupon code for another $5 off. http://shop.famvid.com/catalog/product_inf...ducts_id=276189
