  1. Can't wait for this, the first game is the only PS3 title I have that has really made me feel good about buying the system.

  3. Got my PS3 a few weeks back and it's great! What I want to know is what is with the two Need for Speed games though??? Carbon is actually worse than the PS2 version, the graphics are hardly any better on the ps3, but the game itself has less features! Only one starting girl on the PS3, the comments from your wingmen are far more limited and don't make any sense most of the time, the same with the police radio, the car AI is also better on the PS2. Pro-street on PS3 is an absolute shambles, it crashes, doesn't work online without a patch that doesn't exist in the UK, has a pathetic framerate than can render it unplayable and also corrupts its save game file so you loose everything. It's bloody awful! Now I don't know what these games are like on Xbox 360 or Wii but the PS3 versions should never have seen the light of day, they seem unfinished at best. Anyone played the other next gen versions and care to comment. To be honest I feel totally ripped off as both games received good review scores with no mention of the problems. It's the last cash EA are getting out of me for the forseeable future, BAH
  4. At least in europe I think the Amiga CD32 were still having games released. Also the PC Engine CD in Japan & also the FM towns.
  5. The IIfx is great, we used to have one at the engineering company I worked at, it ran 2 21" mono displays for some fancy 3D design software. We also had several IIci 's that were very nice also. I think I still have some of the excellerated video cards for them in there original boxes floating around somewhere. As to games, can I reccomened hand of fate, by westwood. You also might want to look into getting a 840AV for the ultimate 68k mac or maybe a 900/950 for the huge upgrade potential, I used to own a 950 with a PPC upgrade card that went like a rocket.
  6. Had my 40 gig for a week now and i'm loving it! Have LAIR & Resistance fall of man, both of which I have become obsessed by. Fantastic system, the downloadable demos are a godsend too with the price of the next gen games so high.
  7. Well the amiga for games for sure. The ST for colour and a nice easy to use OS, the mac for the great OS and some superb apps, I had access to all at the time with macs at work, ST at home and Amiga owned by friends, hated the amiga os, too much CLI MS-DOS type stuff, ST sound was poor & limited colours and mac was mono so they all had there downsides too
  8. No way, I never knew that! Wandes off o find his moon patrol cart..........
  9. item no. 350000403852 Fully working and starting at 99p no reserve!
  10. Hi all, I have bought a jap model Neo Geo CD from a ebay seller in Hong Kong, it came with a bunch of games, controller, a Hewlett Packard PSU and a 220v/110v stepdown adaptor. Now the thing powers up but does not spin the discs, either game discs or music cd's. I contacted the seller who thinks it is the power supply not putting out enough power to spin the drive, apparently he has had this issue before. Anyhow being non electronically minded do this sound feasible? Also where could I get a 240v PSU that would meet the correct spec's? Also anyone know what the spec's should be? Thanks All! chris
  11. Ooops yep Ladybug.. great game, played for hours last night
  12. Tried it on the LCD TV and nothing here either, neither telly has an NTSC mode, guess that's my problem. The LCD has PAL I, PAL DK, PAL BM but no NTSC. Any other ideas folks?
  13. Hi Pipster, thanks for the info, I have just given it a go on my front room telly, a mids 1990's Sony 21" CRT I not getting anything out of it, did a fully tuning search and nada. I'll give it a go with the new LCD 15" TV upstairs in a bit as that is more likely to be NTSC compatible. Best, Chris
  14. I got a sears video arcade (woody six switch) off UK ebay earlier in the week for a fiver with all the controllers, manuals and a couple of games. Now I would like to get this thing working on my PAL TV so hopefully the NTSC games I have will come up in the right colours etc. Now I assume I'm going to have to do a composite video mod to make this happen as my TV will not find a signal off the RF, I belive this is something to do with the UHF/VHF difference in UK & US tellys? Now I'm hoping someone on here has already done this or has an even easier(or better) solution, my soldering skills are pretty minimal, I'm alright with wiring on my Motorcycles but this electronics stuff I have never tried before. Anyhow any advice/ help welcome. Cheers folks!
  15. My homebrew games came through today from the store and I have had a chance to try them out for 10 mins or so each. First I tried Was This Planet Sucks! It's a lunar Rescue type game and really good fun, the graphics and controls are really nice and it's a real challenge too, sound is not that great but a nice game that i'll be going back to a lot. Next I played ladybird, this is truly superb, the whole package is A1, I really think this is by far the best maze game for the system if not the best game period, if you don;t have it, buy it! Next was Space Treat Deluxe, basically it's frogger in space, now frogger is one of my favourite games, I have the Parker cart, the Starpath tape and the XE cart so this game is right up my street, lovely graphics and very responsive controls. The last game I got was Dark Mage, it's all text and seems to be pretty descriptive, I'll need to spend more timee on this before I cn give a verdict but it's interesting so far. Definetly going to get some more when I have some cash. Best regards, Chris
  16. your right Rom, it's 1986, sorry the adventure pic is a little blurry, was early morning when i did it and needed more coffee

  18. Cleaning the contacts carefully with a cotton bud and rubbing alchol or with a pencil eraser usually does the trick. If not Some others have had some success with resoldering the chip but it's never worked for me.
  19. They look like PAL , I have a pair just like that!
