Got some games through the post today from an ebay auction(all stated as working by the seller). Now the Challenge of Nexar didn't work at first, so I gave it a good clean with isopropyl achohol on a cotton bud, still no go, so polished it with autosol metal polish, cleaned again to remove any residues. Well it worked once, now can't get it going again! Have tryed resoldering the chip joints but no effect except now the label is knackered!Any ideas folks? Have tried on both my six switch 2600 & almost brand new 7800. Best regards, Chris

God knows, I can't speak German! The seller is cool however, I got my SEE MONSTER off him recently. -
Yeah, on the FAQ it says they only last for a hour or so on the Lynx.
-
Wow that's very cool, remember being show Mandelbrot's in school on a BBC micro. Right now I have to get Chip's!!
-
Yep, use mine with a Walkman. Best investment I ever made for my Atari! Keep an eye out on the forum marketplace, much better than ebay, that's where I got mine. Also reccomened Cosmic Ark, Fantastic Voyage, Polaris, Popeye & Blueprint. All fun and nothing else too similar to them. Best regards, Chris

I really like the Sun Scan cart, the robots are cool. Also the Tigervision games for the different coloured cases, some of the art is nice too, particularly Threshold & Polaris.
-
I'm really enjoying Fantastic Voyage at the moment. Nice to have a game with a different premise too. Also still in love with Phaser Patrol.

Was pretty tired when I checked Atarimania, Oh well, looks quite a fun game anyhow. All the best, Chris -
Got my Lynx through the post yesterday(tenner with 3 games off ebay). I only learned about this machine recently off this site(just like the XE I bought recently). Had a dead spot for video games when both those systems were current, too interested in motorbikes and girls I guess, so never knew they existed:) OK some first impressions: 1. It's huge!! 2. It wants six batteries(rummages in draws, comes up with 2, goes to shop buys 4 more, rushes home). Bloody hell six!! What's it going to do with them, heat the house??? 3. Inserts Roadblasters card after scratching head on which way round then noticing diagram on back. 4. OK, it's big, but surprisingly comfy and Roadblasters is excellent, the graphics and sound, well everything are much better than I thought they would be, it seems easily comparable with my sons Gameboy SP and way better than the old Gameboy Color(for a start I can see the screen). Next up I played Blue Lightning(for 2 hours), it's handheld Playstation Air Combat with an Atari logo, VERY cool! The last game I got with it is Ninja Gaiden, also great fun game, all in all I'm very impressed. Gonna cost me a fortune in batteries until I find a mains adaptor though:) So thanks Atari Age, thats two new systems(Lynx, XEGS) I have found out about here in a month and bought for peanuts off ebay & they have given me a ton of gaming pleasure already. Best regards, Chris

Just came across this auction http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ATARI-2600-Taiwan-DA...1QQcmdZViewItem And can't find the game on Atarimania, do you reckon that this maybe the famous prototype Atari Charles has been revving up on the proto forums forever? Anyone no anything about this game? Best regards, Chris

Excellent stuff, had a feeling it was the power supply duff. Great set of games for starting off too! Don't forget to check out Random terrains stuff for E.T. should help you get some real mileage out of the game. http://www.randomterrain.com/atari-2600-memories-et.html Frogger, Ms Pacman & Berzerk are real gems too, should get loads of fun from them too. I personally really enjoy the Defender on 2600 too, quite often pull it out and plug away upto 500,000 points:) Best regards, Chris

Outrageous asking price for a 2600 game
BSA Starfire replied to Foxsolo2000's topic in Auction Central
I saw this first time around too. Why is everything ***ULTRA RARE*** on ebay? Well except the things on there that probably are rare. He doesn't even say what games are on the thing! As a point of interest are Brazillian games PAL or NTSC? Best regards, Chris -
When I first had this game I had no manual so wandered around, fell into pits then put it back on the shelf, and forgot about it. Later I got given a big pile of manuals including the one for ET, once I knew what I was trying to accomplish and how to go about it the game became one of my favourites. RT 's hints just made it so much better too. I can think of a huge number of games worse than ET an example on the 2600 being Shark Attack. Anyhow we are all entitled to our opinions, after all. So you either like it not. Best regards, Chris

Those are in such good condition. I used to own one of these machines in the mid eighties(my first computer) and the boxes didn't look that nice then! Burgertime and astrosmash were OK on it, playing games with the keys was the problem however. I think this machine was about £45 in the UK new, and the games were also cheap, around £5. Guess it was discontinued when I had. Best regards, Chris

UK PAL BOXED HEAVY SIXER + SMS1+++
BSA Starfire replied to BSA Starfire's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
OK here are the other two systems. First up is a Sega Master system, built in games are Safari Hunt & Super Hang-On. All works a treat. Also included are 25 games, 23 are loose and two are boxed with manuals. Looking for £50 + Shipping. Right the last system is a Radofin Telesports III, this is a very rare system from what I can tell, well at least there is very little info on the 'net about it that I can find. It's all working with 2 controllers & non-original power pack. Also has the 4 game carts shown, Invaders I can't get to work however, not even sure if it right for the system? Anyhow pretty interesting old console probably about the age of the heavy sixer at a guess. Looking for £15 + shipping OK any interest let me know! I'm after Lynx games, Atari XE carts, Supercharger games and a few 2600 games that I still need as far as trade is concerned, but if you have something cool let me know, never any harm in looking Best regards, Chris -
Hi All, I'm offering some stuff for sale or possible trade that I no longer play. Better to spend the cash on games I'll use right? Anyhow please PM any questions or offers. Right first we have a genuine boxed UK PAL heavy sixer. She works great, see the pics for condition.

Your best bet is to check out the power pack first. These usually just get a fracture in the cable near where it exits from the plug(happens when people wind the cable tight around the plug for storage). Set it up and wiggle the cable right near the mains end(slowly) while watching the screen. You'll often remake the connection in the cord when doing this and the atari will flash up a picture with either a blank screen of coloured random bars. Then you can either get a new PSU(they are about £2 here in the UK and available from the high street with ease). Or crack open the old psu on the mains end, unsolder the cord, cut off the bad end with the fracture, and solder it back up. Of course until you have a game this is no guarantee the Atari is fully functional, but it is a least a start. Good luck! Chris

Need help finding pre-1985 platform game (limited info)
BSA Starfire replied to Mr.Amiga500's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Perhaps it was Mountain King by CBS? The character is small and has a torch.
