Have you tried to clean the unit itself? A dirty cartridge port could be giving you all the grief.
I have 80 odd games ,it's only these few that I can't get working. A friend suggested it may be dry solder joints in the carts. Does this sound like a reasonable possibility? If so can I just touch them up with an iron?
Best regards

Thanks folks! Those instructions helped. I am in the UK. Nightmare is working I just have a pile of other carts that don't work, Action man, pac man, yars revenge, F14 tomcat. All have had the contacts cleaned till they shine but still no play. Anything else I can do before consigning them to the bin?
Best regards

Anyone have a manual scan for this game? Just got it and have no idea what's going on. Also anyone have any advice on getting carts working? Have cleaned the contacts with alcohol but no good.
Thanks in advance

I have a few of these, fire fighter is the other common one. They don't seem to have released all the Imagic titile this way in PAL however.

Check out this interview from some activision programmers, they discuss how the game quality has improved.

Defender 2/ Stargate is great, Chopper command is also cool and a real challenge. I have another called Overkill, think it is a UK pirate, no idea what the original release was called. I'm pretty fond of planet patrol too. You could also get River Raid and put the TV on it's side

Nolan Bushnell is a smart cookie, have you ever seen the video interviews on the playstation Atari Anniversary game. He had all the chip manufacturers tied up on exclusive contracts developing new video game system designs to keep the competition at bay.

Thanks everyone!
So pretty much they just set a way too high score threshold & probably no one ever got the prize, one wonders if it even existed.
I have a PAL Airlock by Gameworld that says it's Data Age on the title screen(what an awful game).

Hi All,
just came across this ad : http://www.tomheroes.com/Video%20Games%20F...ads/bermuda.htm
and wondered if anyone had info on the manuscript and artifact mentioned? Just curious. Also does anyone have a bermuda triangle cart for sale, it looks fun and is a title I have never come across before. I'm in the UK so maybe it wasn't released here?
Thanks!

Thanks all, I have more of those than I thought, combat, street racer, fun with numbers & Indy 500(never played this as I haven't got the right controllers). Your right about the graphics improving over time too!

Hello all,
I was wondering what the first set of games released for the VCS were? I assume Combat was one of the first and perhaps outlaw? Just interested as I don't think |I have played many of the really early games.
Thanks

Hi all,
I have the oportunity to obtain a Romscanner for the VCS , now as far as I can tell it's a unit that plugs into the top of the machine and takes ten game carts that you may then selct between, kinda handy I thought. However the seller says it is missing a wire that goes between the unit and atari, in the pic is the unit, box, some of what look like mounting supports. The bit that plugs into the cart port on the atari also seems to be there. So my question is anyone have any idea what this missing cable is?
Hope you can help!

Hi all,
just wondered if there are any atari games with dino's in them? Have never come across any and this seems a real oversight on developers part. Only one I can think of loosley is Rampage but that was really a godzilla type monster right?.

Right, thanks both. I'll try the port and also test them on my 7800, thats near new so no dirt or wear on that.
