My first flashback! :)
BSA Starfire replied to oky2000's topic in AtGames Flashback and Portable Consoles
Nice find for a fiver. Bloke @ our bootsale had about 20 new ones, last week. Was asking £15 each, made a big deal about them still being £45 in Argos. I must admit it didn't seem worth £15, but a fiver, hell yes. Be interested to see how you get on with it. -
Release date of the 520STFM?
BSA Starfire replied to BSA Starfire's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Thanks for the reply's folks. Nice to know my memory was right. -
Hi All, I'm trying to figure out exactly which year we bought our brand new, just released 520STFM. I know it had TOS 1.0 as it played Arkanoid no problems and also it had single sided drive. I'm fairly sure it was 1986? It came from Silica Shop & included NeoChrome & 1st Word, that was it. I know the huge game bundles came later right? Also anyone know when the double sided drive became standard? Finally when was TOS 1.04 installed as standard on the FM, just trying to date the machine I have now. Best regards, Chris

Atari ST games for my show
BSA Starfire replied to infected flinch's topic in Atari ST/TT/Falcon Computers
Hi Dave, for the ST how about Starball? The best PD game for the ST ever IMHO. I've also been playing a good bit of Super space Invaders on ST. Pang is also cool and a more untalked about title. Anyhow welcome to the forum! All the best, Chris- 6 replies

The rf output on my pal 7800 is dreadful. 2600 looks better than 7800 games, this is apparently to do with interference from Maria chip. Well know picture is rubbish on most uk model 7800's, I have owned 3 and they have all been bad.

What TV channel(s) do PAL consoles output on?
BSA Starfire replied to Serious's topic in Classic Console Discussion
What you have is probably PAL-I standard, so normal would be channel 36 UHF (NOT VHF). -

Well in the A 500 side I would take 2. Both mine have faulty keys, and eBay just supplied another dead board. 500 & 500+ keyboards are compatible btw.

All this stuff is from 70's or 80's. The chance of it being smoke free are pretty tiny.

how to quiet down an Xbox Crystal
BSA Starfire replied to BSA Starfire's topic in Classic Console Discussion
Thanks guys. It has quietened down somewhat with some use. I think it had been sat unused for a long time. I need to buy the correct TORX tools before looking any further. -
No problems, it came from eBay UK, the seller has a bunch of them. Highly recommended for the price. http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?ff3=4&pub=5574883395&toolid=10001&campid=5336500554&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fitm%2FSega-Megadrive-compatible-games-console-Megakey-region-switch-50-60hz-boxed-NEW-%2F190849469575%3Fpt%3DUK_VideoGames_VideoGameConsoles_VideoGameConsoles%26hash%3Ditem2c6f83cc87 The PSU He supplies is an original Atari Jaguar PSU, kinda neat too.

Hi All, I would like to buy or trade for a Atari 520 STFM with TOS version 1.0. Not too worried if single or double sided drive, but must be version 1.0 ROM. It's gonna have to be UK for the shipping etc, bare computer, no cables etc is fine but must be fully working. Thanks!

Forgot burgertime in bedrock, it's a little slow and you'd be better od with the old Gameboy Bergertime Deluxe, but it's still fun.

Any games worth downloading for Android?
BSA Starfire replied to S1500's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
Plants Vs Zombies. Need for Speed Most wanted. Real Racing 3. Hungry Shark Evolution. All run flawlessly on Kindle Fire Ver2 so your Galaxy should be more than fine! -
Mistake in the first post list buddy, you have my console listed as owned by dustygraves, serial is X938381666. It's definitely mine and has been for a while!

Just though I'd share these two recent pick-ups with you fine folks. This is a Russian Sega Megadrive/Genesis clone, check out the Pokemon on back of box! What's with that? Anyhow this is a really neat console. Uses a GOAC SM 801A, the sound is fine, and it has an overclock switch along with PAL/NTSC, 50/60 Hz & language switches on the bottom. The 2 included 6 button pads are really OK, not the usual shite. I have tried this out with Japanese, USA and UK games and it runs them all flawlessly, the overclock really helps F22 & LHX in the frame rate stakes. This Famicom clone I bought at a local carboot sale for £1, gotta love the N64 syle case it comes packed in. Anyhow this is also kinda cool, it's cart compatible with the famicom and comes with a 101-1 cart. Many of these games are copyrighted 2001/2002, however loads of classics on here. Anyhow, just thought I'd share some less often seen consoles.
