  1. Here's a game I played a ton in high school when there was free time in the computer lab. Again i never beat it. Transylvania was released in 1982 for the Apple II computer system and many more through out the years. I decided to play the 1986 double hi-res version for the Apple II. Here's an Intro via Moby Games: Transylvania is an adventure with optional graphics, and a VERB NOUN interface. Two weeks ago, Princess Sabrina suddenly vanished and remained unseen since. King John the Good asks any travellers to help in locating her - you volunteer. As you begin your quest in the dark forests of Transylvania, beware of the evil that lurks. You will encounter strange creatures like a vampire and a goblin, and experience strange things. Most importantly, a werewolf is constantly chasing you, until you find the pistol and bullets necessary to kill it. Remember fellow traveller, take care... I gotta say I really like this challenging game. Getting chased around by the werewolf can be very stressful until you get the items to take care of him. And finally a few shots of the ending. http://img72.imagesh...a2transend1.png http://img198.images...a2transend2.png
  2. Here are a few games I am currently playing. I normally have 3-5 games going at the same time, rotating when i get tired of one. Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (GBA) - around 50% mapped Torchlight II (PC) - not sure how far i am into it Dungeon Siege I (PC) - 11 hours in Legend of Zelda (NES) - just started The Classic games i normally just pick one I played when i was a teenager since they normally only take a few hours to complete not counting RPGs. Transylvania Double Hi-Res Version (Apple II) - Almost complete So that's what I have coming down the pipe and hopefully many more.
  3. The first thing I want to mention is ... yeah i cheat. I use faqs, solutions and walk-throughs. I enjoy the experience and story of the game more than trying to figure out puzzles. With that out of the way lets move onto the game. Dark Lord was released in 1987 for the Apple II and Commodore 64 computers. I remember playing this game as a teenager when it came out but never got through it. I decided to do something strange this play-through. I played through the Commodore 64 version and Apple ii version at the same time. Using emulators I was able to accomplish this. I can honestly say if your going to play a version of Dark Lord, make it the Commodore 64. The graphics are better and the sound is much much better than the Apple II version. The story for Dark Lord is as follows via Moby Games: "Journey through a magic mirror, which leads you to the alterworld where you must defeat Nequam, the Dark Lord who killed your grandfather. Dark Lord is an adventure game that involves the player reading a description of each scene, and entering one- or two-word commands at the prompt. Some of the commands recognized include GET, EXAMINE, GIVE, and SAY (to have conversations with people you meet" I really enjoyed finally getting through the game and on two different versions no less. Here are a few final cut scenes for the ending of Dark Lord on the Commodore 64 and Apple II. It took a little over two hours to complete with help. 4. Welp yesterday after i typed up my entry explaining what i would be doing this year, i was able to Finish Zombie Driver. The game came out in 2009 for the PC. I've always enjoyed mission based driving games and this one is no exception. You basically complete 17 missions and along the way rescue various citizens who are trapped in buildings through out the city. You also get to destroy zombies in all manner of ways. You can ram them, shoot them with machine guns as well as roast them with a flame thrower and unlock new weapons as you complete missions. As the game progresses, you also unlock different vehicles you can drive as well. There are also three different modes you can play. Story mode which is the missions, Slaughter mode which is basically a survival mode and Blood Race which is some type of Tournament racing which I haven't tried yet. I played for about 6 hours and completed story mode. I have also tried Slaughter mode a few times as well. I enjoyed the game a lot for what it is, a simple mission based game where you can destroy zombies. Below are a couple screen shots I snapped with my I-Phone of the ending. I've put them in url just in case someone doesn't want to see the ending. http://img534.images...18/photoete.jpg http://img706.images...7/photo1yph.jpg http://img7.imagesha...62/photo2pu.jpg http://img252.images...2/photo3gno.jpg http://img213.images...6/photo4yww.jpg
  5. Well i figured it was time to update my blog since i haven't done it in a long time (last July). I will get back to Rogue entries as some point probably just picking random Atari Age members to be my characters in the game. In the meantime i decided to make a New Years Resolution. I have over 2000 games in my collection and have only beaten maybe 1% of them. So this year is the year i hunker down and see how many i can beat before December 31st 2013. I will be playing games from 1979 - 2013. I will be using this blog as point of reference for me to keep track of exactly what i complete. Wish me luck.

  18. I didn't see a previous thread on this so i thought i would share. ---- From another forum ----- Hello there! I just finished build a full production of USB joystick adapter. These adapters can be used on PC or MAC with any game or emulator (like CCS64). This means you can get your old gaming gear out of the dust and play again like before! This adapter does not require 3rd party drivers, as far as they are HID compatible. I sell them for 25.00$ USD. You can either post me or get them on EBay; http://www.retronicdesign.com/
