Was it that one that ended up going for like, $700+?
If so, I'm glad you got a big pay out, although seeing that final price pretty has much killed my dream of ever owning a 2600.
Yeah, that one was mine. Keep in mind that it was a first release sixer in a chess piece box that was in pretty amazing condition. The boxes for them are usually beat up with lots of tears. Boxed sixers usually go for around $200-300. You'll find one in your price range eventually. Be patient! ?

I have a friend that is unloading his collection right now and while testing his games before listing them he found that he had a Freeway shell that had a Ghostbusters rom.
The weird thing is that the Freeway label is the first label variation with the RED cars and not the later multi-colored cars screenshot. So many years apart from when GB was released.
What can I say? I'm a trailblazer.

Thanks for the info everybody!
Sadly, I got outbid on the heavy sixer I was eying, so things are moot for now.
If that was mine you were bidding on, thanks for the bids. ?

It usually indicates that it is a PAL version and not NTSC. But there are some exceptions.
One I know of for sure because I have it is the 1985 Atari Corp Joust release. It has a P on the end label but my copy is NTSC. Colors are good and the picture doesn’t roll.
In this pic the Joust is really NTSC but the Asterix is PAL.

Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkNice boxed games, ya bum. ?

I think any halo effect caused by the RP1 movie has since abated. Yes, it did cause a price spike around that time but since the movie's been out of the spotlight for awhile, prices have returned to mostly normal.
No, they haven't. I just auctioned off an excellent condition CIB Adventure, starting at a $9.99 opening bid. Final hammer was $146.50.
Nice complete boxed examples routinely go for over $100 on eBay.
A sealed, non-graded example just recently hammered on eBay for over $3,526.

You see them over here in Australia too, i have a few.
See? That's the only way to figure out the wackiness of Atari...collector networking. I didn't know the blue Defenders were also in Australia. ?

You could be right about that. A few years back i traded a Miniature Golf picture label with someone in Germany that told me they had never seen one come up over there in Europe. Weird, why would the PAL version only be released over here in Australia?
Atari collecting turns up bizarre results. LOL. It's like the blue label Defender cart that's Euro-only. Why does it exist? Who knows?

I have one...the Miniature Golf picture label, which is PAL only and also Aussie-only (I think).

I don’t think any of the boxes are in that good shape.
Okay, no worries. Thanks for the quick reply.

I'd be interested in any 2600 CIB that have NM boxes, sealed or not.

This will be a long-standing post. I'm always looking for & buying comic books, so let me know what you have.
I've had some cool responses so far! Keep 'em coming!

If anyone has any sitting around that they want to get rid of, I buy pretty much anything and everything from the 1930's to now.

Basically if they're worth something you can get some extra cashola to feed your video game habit.
Let me know, and thanks for reading!

Yup, I'll take 'em.

Can you PM me pics as well?
Thanks!

You'll need to replace either the 5V regulator or the green "chiclet" capacitor on your Atari. I replaced both on my 4-switch Atari and I haven't had any issues since. See my first post on Atariage. Google 4-switcher Atari intermittent reception. (I'm using mobile/3DS web browser so I can't copy/paste the link atm). 4-switch models use a .1uF green chiclet. 6-switch mod3ls use a .22uF green chiclet. You can pick up the caps as well as the three prong 5V regulator at Radio Shack.
Google-gobble wakka-pakka?
I have zero clue what you're talking about.
Peace,
Chip

How did you receive your first Atari "back in the day?"
