OMG! DiCaprio to star as Nolan Bushnell!

Isn't it obvious? Tim Curry. -
Yeah. Built in IR Motion sensor and whatnot.

I'm in no way/shape/form trying to sell this to anyone. I found it interesting at work and searched for it here and only found one thread. www.xavix.com says they're marketing it as a video game/educational game/home security system. As far as I know, the only thing they have released (in the US Market) is the three sports sims. Golf wold be nice. And would probably make me buy it.

I'm a RadioShack Sales Associate, and we just setup a Xavix at our store. It's really alot of fun. We have the Baseball Game on demo. The graphics are cheesy, but the gameplay is addicting. And it's almost exercise. After playing it for about an hour I'm sore as all hell. It's not so much a play by yourself game, but this would make a great party game. Especially if you can get a projector or at very least a big screen TV. I'm going to an overnight car meet in 2 weeks and am thinking of buying a Xavix for fun. Even with my RS discount, though, it's a bit pricey. I'm not sure what the replay value would be.

Only the second time I went out this year, but I had a great day. There isn't much left out here anymore, but it's refreshing to find stuff once in a while. My best find was probably as Sega Brand Saturn Backup Card. I paid $3 for it. I never thought I'd see one of these short of eBay. She assumed it was a Genesis cart. I also got 2 of the massive Coleco Power Supplies, for $5 total. I'm going to save one in case I ever mod the ADAM to not have the printer. Not sure what to do with the other. I know they're rare, but not sure what they're worth. There are none on eBay at the moment, so maybe that's an indication. I'd trade someone even up for a few items (like a Master System A/V cord, or something) or some games or whatever. I got the Ghost Manor/Spikes Peak Xonox double ender. Pretty cool. Only a 4+, but it's the only double ender I've ever seen in the wild, and it was only $3. Also got a sealed copy of Gigawing for Dreamcast for $1. I'll probably never open it, but it's still pretty cool. I had fun today. It was a welcome change.

Gabriel is right, Ace Combat 4 is excellent. I'm playing it a second time through, which is really rare for me.

True, But 7 of those systems are actually connected to the TV, and that's when they look at me wiht that "WTF" look.

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread
Intrepid replied to Happy_Dude's topic in Classic Console Discussion
I picked up Roc'N Rope, and it looks like it's brand new right out of the box. This is probably my rarest cart so far. Also picked up a copy of Kool-Aid Man. Both were $.75. -
Green isn't a bad color. But that shade is, like I said, unflattering. That's the best possible word I can think of.

No. I really appreciate some of the special/custom X's that Japan got, namely the crystal one, but the Halo XBox is just plain ugly. For the people that are not going to like this opinion, step back and ask yourself, "If I didn't like Halo, would I still like this X-Box?" It's an unflattering color, and if you don't like Halo, an unflattering offer.

Do you come out for Fort Ligonier Days, or just for the heck of it? I only ask, because that's about all there is out there.

My local mall just opened a new store/kiosk called Cash-In Culture. Basically, they take in old pop-culture items and mark them up, resell them on the other side of the mall. About 1/4th of the kiosk is made up of vintage video games. Flat rates: Atari: $3 NES/SNES/N64: $4 They also have PS1, PS2 (most $10), and XBOX games as well. They also were selling some consoles. SNES $25, XBOX $120, Nice 1st Gen Genny boxed complete for $39, PS1 for $35. It's really great in the sense that they really don't know/care what they're buying/selling, so the flat rate leaves it open to the chance of getting some great finds for cheap. On the downside, they're helping deplete the attics and basements of the local area, so there will be less to go through at the yard sales. It is refreshing to walk through the mall past the X-Box crap and see Atari carts. I might start taking some dupes up there and getting store credit so I can get some more Atari carts. I only have about 70 of them. It's called "Cash-In Culture" and its in the Bon Ton wing at the Westmoreland Mall in Greensburg, for the locals. It's not worth driving too far for if you have a retail Atari/NES supplier, but around here, it's the best we have.

I just want to take the oppurtunity to say I had a GREAT time. AA's booth was exceedingly well put togeather and the time and effort really shined through. I also really enjoyed the AtariMuseum exhibit, and most everything else that was available to everyone. One thing though, it's amazing how hot a room that size can get with that many coin-ops, TV's, consoles, computers, and people in it. It's just another testament to how hard the vendors and organizers worked to make this go off smoothly. Thanks again to everyone. Since I mostly lurk, I didn't run into many people that I knew. But I did talk with Trade-N-Games and he really made the show even more enjoyable for me and my tag-along girlfriend. Thanks man. Finally, the weather was gorgeous. The winds on Sunday were a bit much, but considering the worries some people had before the show, we couldn't have had a better weekend. Thanks again everyone, maybe I'll see more of you in person next year.

I'm leaving in the AM, staying at a friends on Friday night, and will be at the Radisson on Saturday night. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

15 Classics For 50 Bucks - Worthwhile?
Intrepid replied to PaleGreen's topic in Classic Console Discussion
This COULD be decent, but how much is shipping? Maybe I'll look into it after PC5. I'd feel kinda dumb spending $50 on games online when I'm going to Gaming Expo next week. -
FA: Power Player LCD/TV Games (168 built-in) (NES Clone)

Isn't that an AC Adapter right in the center? -
Or you could just bid the minimum bid very early.

I'll take a badge. I just want to see an example first so I can see what to put on the second line. Though in reality, it'll prob be my real name.

I've bought and paid for my hotel room (Radisson) so I'm definately going. I might buy me and my girlfriend AA T-shirts for the event. Can't wait to see the events, and the people.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3074506085 Wow, got $41 for a pile of spare parts, some of which either don't work or aren't compatable. I guess I got lucky. Has the market been good lately. Is this anyone from here? Glad I didn't trade it straight up for commons like I wanted too in this thread.
-
I don't charge shipping for my auctions (unless they're something overly big). I find people will bid higher and often past what it would have cost for the item and shipping anyway. Puts more money in my pocket and it makes the bidder feel like they're getting something for nothing.

gah, my bad. They're run-of-the-mill 4 switch VCS units. On the bottom, 2 of them have the regular gray Serial Number stickers. 1 of those has a large orange customer service sticker. The 3rd unit has no stickers at all. Like I said, they're good for a cosmetic upgrade or someone doing a VCS project where you'd need a casing or some internals. Maybe you always wanted to try the a/v cable upgrade, who knows. All the units are tested and working.
-
Hello, I've had 3 Atari VCS core units in my (small) room for some time now, and it's obvious I'm never going to complete them. Does anybody want 1 (or 2, or 3) for some common titles? Perhaps you have a project or need a cosmetic upgrade. All the units are tested as working, and are in good cosmetic shape. I figure this is a chance for me to create space by mailing out the decks, and those 'just in case' shipping boxes I have laying around. I figure 10-15 common titles, or fewer less common titles would be pretty much even (VCS titles). I'm not looking for anything in particular. I'd prefer Atari 2600/7800 games, but I'm also interested in other systems, expecially the NES. Details can be worked out, and I'm very flexible as I'm just looking to broaden my small collection. Here's my list of games, as I'd prefer to not get many dupes. http://users.ign.com/collection/dodint If anyone in interested, reply here or send a PM. Thanks.
