Here's a strategy I use, maybe it will help. 1. Realize that most layouts are solvable, it just depends on how you pull tiles. AS @Fadest says, there is a random possibility that three of the same will be on top of one another, but my experience is that is lower than you might think. 2. Realize that there are FOUR of every tile. There are 4 seasons, 4 flowers, etc. So even though those might look different, they still count as a group of four. Always, always, always, look for the ability to pull groups of four off. 3. Have a definite game plan: try to free up more tiles with your moves. So, if you have a choice between an edge piece that will only open 1-2 and a "pile" piece that will open three or four, go for the pile. Always start with pulling pieces off of the pile. Always. Always. Always. If necessary, look for ways to pull pile pieces by searching for a path to do so (i.e., "Okay, so I need a season match to pull the top one off, there's an Autumn near the edge here, let me see if I can 4-pull towards that" 4. The trickiest thing to do is when you see a three pull. Leave those until you are absolutely certain the 4th one is not hiding underneath one of those three. This may all seem obvious, so YMMV. It has served me well. So much so that my friends will not play head-to-head with me as I pull tiles off too quickly. -M

I'm am here. Sorry to say, but I never got an email from you regarding the UGV. I *just* sold a UGV without the S-video board today, so I know they were available. However, I just updated the inventory and both versions are available. Make sure to re-load the page so it gets updated in your browser. https://thebrewingacademy.com/products/ultimate-gated-video-by-mytek-1?_pos=1&_sid=c6e4dc0f9&_ss=r&variant=40014059733094 On a side note, I answer *every* email I receive, so if anyone does not get a reply, then it either went into spam (which I check every so often just in case) or I never received it. Phone calls and/or text messages are also answered, though not as immediately. -M

Thanks for the order. I will hold onto them for you until after PRGE. No worries. I am not going to PRGE this year. It's just too much work. It's a great show and I always sell a lot of stuff, but DAMN it takes a lot out of me. It's a LOT of heavy lifting and long hours. I will ship these out NEXT week unless I hear otherwise.

Hey folks, Just wanted to move a few Sophia 2 units, so thought I would offer 20% off for 30 units or for the rest of September 2024 (whichever comes first). 1 use of the coupon per customer (so only on one order, buy all you want in one order!) and it only lasts until 30 units have been sold OR September ends. CODE: SEPTSOPHIA https://www.thebrewingacademy.com/ Enter at checkout! (Has no cash value, not valid on prior sales, will not cure cancer, cannot help your love life, you are responsible for your own actions, yadda yadda yadda) -M

Folks, I have my 64DD and console up for sale. It's on ebay, but will sell it for $250 less than that It includes just about everything for the 64DD as well as the hard to find RandNet keyboard. I take PayPal and Apple Pay and Shop Pay and all sorts of electronic payments! Am very open to offers, but pretty sure this a decent price and is certainly less than I paid for everything (but that's kind of on me, now isn't it? ) Listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/286069198276 Thanks for looking! *Shipping is additional. I do ship worldwide -M

I would double check all of the solder points and the wiring. It would be *highly* unusual for the UAV to output *nothing* on the CHR or LUM points. -M
-
All UAVs are either made by a factory in a clean room and then individually packaged in SMD bags OR if I need to make some between shipments, they are made with a pick and place and a reflow oven in my shop. Of the literally 1000s of UAVs sold, there have been maybe a handful that have been faulty from the factory (as noted by @-^CrossBow^-. I have looked over this conversation and I am not certain if you are using a BASIC board and installing from there or a BASIC board on a ITC carrier. If the latter, check to make sure you have good solder connections between the ITC board and the UAV. Also, the solder points on the UAV are VERY sensitive to too much heat and can lift fairly easily, so I would make sure you have good connections all around (as I am sure you have, but check anyway ). -M

Do you want gerbers (for producing multiple boards) or a just set of boards to build your own? -
Necrobump here: Did these go into production? Would love a couple. Thanks! -M

Here's the link: https://github.com/dabonetn/ti99psu-replacement/tree/main Here's the original: https://github.com/jonn-reenthused/TI99-4A-dc-power-board I just ordered a few PCBs. If it looks good and feasible, I will make them available. Also, will be willing to send a blank PCB or three to our friends to the North in exchange for future beers. -M

Got an email from “Judge.me” saying it was from AtariAge asking about a purchase I made 14 days ago for 7800 Frenzy. Which is odd since I have neither ordered in the last 14 days nor have I ever purchased Frenzy. EDIT: Okay, so I noticed that it had an order number in the subject line, but not in the main body. That order does exist from *2015*. So, I guess I did order Frenzy ….. ten years ago. anybody else get something like this?

To be clear. I was not complaining at all! The exact opposite, really, everything you did was PERFECT, I was saying that your mentions were great and did not at ALL impact my glowing evaluation Seriously, a really good video.

That is a very nice video. Really shows the difference! (and the fact that we were in there for a wee bit as well doesn't AT ALL impact my evaluation ) -M -M

ColecoVision adapter for the Master System - available now!
MacRorie replied to Apocalypse's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
I would like one as well, please. Put me down for 1, definitely. Two if you have the units. Thanks! -M -
Cool. Thanks. For ease of reference here is the direct link to the files: https://systemembedded.eu/viewtopic.php?t=51 Also, is there a central location for schematics and other gerbers? I would like to try my hand at creating a card for this handy dandy piece of hardware I just bought.
