I did not realize it was incompatible nor has anyone contacted me about having difficulties. I cannot fix what I do not know about. Thanks for tagging me, @mytek, I will update the website when I get back from vacation. @flashjazzcat I apologize for any inconvenience that I caused you. That description is years old. If anything like this happens in the future, please feel free to drop me a direct line. I don’t generally read the forums unless I have it on subscription and/or someone tags me. -M

XEL-CF Compact Flash Adapter for 1088XEL (formerly XEL-I3)
MacRorie replied to mytek's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
The PBI version works perfectly, but the ECI version has the swap button problem. The change in pull-up resistor worked for the PBI version (available here: CLICKY ), but we could never get the ECI version to work. Well, I should say, it works, but once you press the swap button, if you have more than one ATR loaded (which is kind of the point of the swap button, right 🙂 ) they just cycle like a merry-go-round. We tried for a bit and then it go put to the back burner. -M -
I have a couple that would fit the bill. PM me with what your specifics.

Would, of course, like one in the box, but will take what I can get. Would also be interested in any 3rd party drives/drive cards Thanks! -M

Do you have stereo sound coming out of the Atari through some other modification? Before you did the UAV mod, did the cable you are using right now give you composite video out of the yellow connector? How do you have the UAV connected to the DIN5 on the Atari? According to the manual? What pins are the Yellow/White/red connection connected to at the DIN5? -M

CV-NUC+ A Miniature CV Motherboard is in the Works
MacRorie replied to mytek's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
First of all, thank you VERY much for creating this. I just spent an hour playing games I always wanted to play. Also, this justifies the ColecoVision I bought. (I mean, I really bought it to test the 2600-UNO on the CV 2600 Expansion, but NOW I can *really* justify it!) Yes, on all three counts. I just need to assemble it from scratch. MyTek was *very* generous in supplying some of the chips pre-programmed. Now I need to make sure I have all the equipment to properly program them for sale. Stay tuned! It will be available very very soon! It's AWESOME and now I need to stop playing with it and get back to work. The XEP80-II are not going to build themselves! -M -
SO, presuming that you have checked continuity from the UAV to the 5 pin DIN port, you should have Composite Video coming off of the same pin of your cable as it was before. Chroma and Luma should be combined AFTER it leaves the monitor port with the cable (via a 2RCA to 1RCA adapter or something similar) and. even then, only if the monitor does not accept separated inputs). I would check your continuity and make sure every thing is copasetic. Doublecheck your solder points as well. Hope this helps -M

! FlashROM 99 & FinalGROM 99 - Repository
MacRorie replied to arcadeshopper's topic in TI-99/4A Computers
Have you tried pressing the reset button on the FG99 *after* power up, but before pressing a key to get to the TI menu? The steady blinking light tends to indicate that it does not see files. Also, do the files have the correct extension on them? Finally, I would suggest getting the slowest/smallest SD card you can get and using that. You don't need the space and the FG99 tends to want slower/smaller SD cards. Hope this helps. -M- 1,489 replies

Yes, it's in the drop down menu: https://thebrewingacademy.com/products/sophia-2-dvi-output-gtia-replacement?variant=40049979687014 Black is the default. Of course, any color is possible. EDIT: I have a set of grey ones that I literally had thrown away. I will put them in your box right now so you can try them out.

Yap. I am including both versions, just so people can play around with it. https://thebrewingacademy.com/products/sophia-2-dvi-output-gtia-replacement?variant=40049979654246

Why would you not be able to view it initially? The Sophia 2 ships compatible with 5200/800/XL/XE.
-
Well, to be clear, I didn't say you needed to do any special programming, but I did say you will need an 8-bit to change the resolution. However, the wording could have been clearer. So, I changed it. I do not believe that the standard cable will reach to the back of a 5200. I can create a 3x length cable for 5200 if people want it. In fact, if there is a 3D print file for the little door in the back of a 5200, I could modify it and create a set for sale like there is for the 600/800XL. Indeed. The first batch of orders went out on Saturday. The second batch (those that wanted 2x long cables and PBI covers) should go out tomorrow or Wednesday as I needed to print more covers and the cables are difficult (for me) to make. I only have one 800 version left, so if you want one you should come on down! I can certainly understand this. However, just as a counterpoint, the Sophia 2 have been listed on my website for close to 3 years now @ $115, so the ballpark figure was available. With the component cost increases and inflation, I did have to raise the prices, but I don't think that significantly changed the "size" of the ball park. 🙂
-
Sophia 2 are now available for sale. $150 plus shipping. Sorry, for the price increase, but costs of components went up, so my costs went up, and, well, life in general increased in price, but they are available for sale and immediate shipment. https://thebrewingacademy.com/collections/atari-800-xl-xe-xel-xld/products/sophia-2-dvi-output-gtia-replacement Thanks! -M

MacRorie replied to Beeblebrox's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Yes, I can do that. I even have the boards already. Just need to put them up on the website. I will price them same as the UAVs. Fully populated. Will sell bare boards as well. Too many parts to count out for a kit, though. I also have the boards for the S-video daughterboard. -M Will update post with a link as soon s I get them up sometime this week. MacRorie's RT8 Replacement Cartridge Interest Thread
MacRorie replied to MacRorie's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Dan, I think I answered one of your questions, above. The others I sent via the work email. Just a reminder to one and all (it’s in my auto-responder as well): I am away from the shop for the next week. I will try and respond as I see messages come into my personal email (such as AtariAge threads I have on “watch”), but I don’t see work emails unless I log in remotely and I try not to do that on vacation. -

If this is mine, first, I apologize that the cart came apart. Guess it’s time to add glue and not just press fit. Second, the battery is the “back” and should face away from you. -

If y'all don't want the terminal block, I am *MORE* than happy to just put some connectors in there that will allow dupont wires to be used. Just let me know! -M -
