Lynx Prototypes Found: Rolling Thunder, GeoDuel, Vindicators, MORE
MacRorie replied to MacRorie's topic in Atari Lynx
The first few are available for purchase if you would like them. Going to get some more up soon. https://thebrewingacademy.com/collections/atari-lynx/prototypes -
Well, I added GSP to the eBay listing, but eBay is now charging a "Foreign transaction fee" (3%) on top of their final value fee (up to 15%) on top of their shipping fee (10%) and, of course, their listing fee, so the eBay prices went up a bit. The prices on The Brewing Academy website stay the same. HOWEVER COMMA I would check Rees' website again as he probably just got some in within the last two days. It would probably save you a £ (definitely save you a $). -M

Indeed! Yours went into the hands of USPS yesterday!

It was only one piece per two carts, so bad things were going to happen anyway!

TBA has them in hand and ready to ship. (Candy is NOT included, my shipping person **LOVES** it) https://thebrewingacademy.com/collections/atari-800-xl-xe-xel-xld/products/side3

Should be out soon. Just working with a designer on labels. Will 3d print all of the shells this weekend. -
Just a post on here that these are for sale at TBA. Here's the link https://thebrewingacademy.com/collections/atari-800-xl-xe-xel-xld/products/fujinet-a-swiss-army-knife-for-your-atari

I have received the tracking number for them, but until I have things in hand, I do not like to post them for sale. Makes people cranky. As soon as I have them in hand, I will post them on the site for sale. Check back here or there!

I am just gong to leave this right here: Vindicators and SpaceWar are ComLynxable! V: 2 players. I have not tried more because the coin-op was only two. S: So far up to 3. I need to get more Lynxen. That is all for now. -
There’s a schematic? If you have a link, I would love to take a shot at it.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more I have NO idea how I can show that without it getting almost instantly deleted. I mean the splash screen in just some geometric shapes (arranged to look like a penis), but what happens next is just straight porn with lynx sound effects. The player controls the "speed." -

First round should be this coming week. -
If it is a POKEY replacement and is at a good price point, I would buy at least 25. EDIT: it would have to be a 100% drop in replacement in both form and function. If it did that, 25 would only be the beginning.

DD is named D & D on the disk label. I had high hopes . . . .but it's Gauntlet. Which checks out since Lynx Gauntlet was just a re-name of Epyx's D&D-type by Atari in order to connect it to an existing property. -

Norton is just a INI file for I presume a backup. Twinpack is probably Asteroids/Missle Command, but I have not played with it yet -

Folks, I have come upon some previously (I think) unknown prototypes. Their provenance is pretty iron-clad and I was given permission to do with them as I will. I am still going through them and I still have a few projects ahead of them (getting 250 FujiNets out the door, CF32ECI, CF32PBI, 1035, SIO2PC, and some other items), but I wanted to put these out here as a sample of what was found. I will be releasing these just as I did the other ones via my website. https://thebrewingacademy.com/collections/atari-lynx It is possible that *ALL* of these are prototypes of the listed games. It could be that only some are prototypes and others are completed games. Some are playable. Others, like, Cabal, for example, are only a collection of screens. AT least one is DEFINITELY NSFW. I have not gotten through all 95 files yet. If you have any questions, please let me know. -M Moderator Edit: Please see this comment for details of the download link, etc. Rolling Thunder Video: https://youtu.be/mFC0bN9ZEMo Wolfman video: Lynx_Dir List.pdf

It was explicitly designed to be installed in the 4050 socket, so those instructions would be ancillary. However, you can find the input points silkscreened on the board itself (and in the manual). SO long as you can find the discrete signals on the console/computer you are working with, you can connect them to those points. Instructions for doing so on the 2600 and the 7800 can be found in the manual.
