  1. Nice haul. I find it interesting about the Radius monitor too. High end monitors like that sometimes had multi-platform adapters so it would be neat if it worked on the ST.
  2. Manufactured home use goods in general have gotten lower in quality. In the 70s items like TVs, Washer, Dryers, Stereos etc had longer lifespans then most of the cheap stuff today.
  3. Maybe its appreciated more now that many think letterman is on it http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/157629-david-letterman-on-an-intellivison-game-box/
  4. Yeah i played but i didn't like the zork games as much as the other infocom games since you had to make more maps than regular games. At least the later one had map maker built in. Loved the detective ones and hitchhiker's guide t.t. galaxy. Still have some of the original props somewhere too!
  5. I'm not surprised they were not that good since even some of their later software titles didn't seem as memorable as the original batch of infocom games (when they didn't have the generic square boxing).
  6. I had the black robot in Night Stalker stop moving on the right side of the spider web. It literally stayed there indefinitely. This was a good opportunity to rack up points by attacking the weaker regular robots while it was stuck. This happened on the emulator not the actual system so there is a chance it could be an emulator bug. In auto racing, if on the initial leg of the first racecourse in solo mode, if you move your car just parallel to the road you can run off the course and literally scroll across the world and come back!
  7. What a great game, was also good for more than 1 player "co-op" play since both controllers worked. Another great game that set Intellivision apart. P.S. Uh oh, that was not a target
  8. Many of the Intellivision games were pretty state of the art when they came out. I don't know how they can be mocking it so freely. I wonder if the reviewer had their first introductions to INTV one of those poorly made handhelds which didn't even have the proper sound or background music or all the levels and that is why they hate it so much?
  9. I hated that filthy hummingbird too! That must be a conclusion everyone comes too. Its suppose to be your "ally" but it always got in the way of your shoots and whenever you had a nice honeycomb pattern collecting beehives it ruined the pattern.
  10. I'm talking world wide. Some Soviet states had more clones then originals due to limited business with those 'evil capitalists'. Other regions with very high clone rates were Taiwan and Hong Kong. Its difficult to know the exact number because i don't ever remember seeing any sales figures for all the smaller guys and international markets.
  11. Geography, Industry and exchange rate may have played factors. Maybe more clones existed in cities where there was electronic manufacturing. Where i lived in Toronto, Canada it was lots of manufacturing back then. This was before NAFTA even let alone trade with China so there was lots of electronic shops that put together clone apple iis and even clone peripherals. Back then teh US dollar was way more valuable than the par value we have today so there was even more incentive to get clones back then. Also in the early apple ii days there was no significant apple educational discounts that the later apple ii days and early mac days had.
  12. Some Intellivision games have known endings. Games like Utopia and Snafu have turns that run out. Sports games finish when the innings/periods/laps/etc. run out. Other games have a goal to complete such as Star Strike, AD&D, Treasure of Tarmin. You make the goal, get the win screen or you die. What about games that just keep going. Are there any endings? Do any games have a mathematical limit? I'm talking games that go on and on like Space Armada, Astrosmash, Night Stalker, Deadly Disks, Shark Shark, Lock N Chase, Donkey Kong, etc. Do they stop at a particular number due to a limitations by design or other limitation?
  13. Mac's Rhapsody was continuation of NeXT OS. There's a chart here: http://www.rhapsodyos.org/home.html
