Atari Lynx collection up for sale or trade for Apple Newton
kondre replied to kondre's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
most of my replys are requests for battlezone only. I would like to keep this as a while set sale. if it makes any difference, the California games is the ridged version. kevin -

kondre replied to 7800Lover's topic in Classic Console Discussion
i am not sure on the name of the game you mention. but.... if you have some time to waste, look here: http://www.virtualapple.com/ every game is there and playable too! I love old Apple II games best game of all - Wings of Fury I wish someone would make a new version of that game, just to update the graphics, the game play is stellar. kevin -
lynx II in great working condition. all parts there. there is a crack in the screen cover, not in the LCD screen though. I never got around to replacing the screen cover. NO AC adapter though. Lynx pouch and the lynx cable included 9 games loose: California Games Football Klax Boxed: Joust Jimmy Connors Tennis Power Factor STUN Runner Super Asteroids / Missile Command Battlezone 2000 From Digital press' rarity guide and value, the games are tallied up to $82.00 All the carts are in A+ condition. the boxes are pretty good. the asteroids got squished with out the cart in it, but its pretty good anyhow. all the other boxes are B+ -> A condition So i suppose I can let the set go for $100.00 I am looking for an apple Newton 2100 and am trying to gather the cash for it. so if someone has one that you want to unload. we can talk. best advice i can give is ......................buy a new one for cheap. i have never heard of being able to reorder end labels. Print your own until you find a suitable replacement cart. Photo paper is pretty good for this. Thats a good idea. the pic you have there, thats a good one for me to use. Thanks Kevin

What happened to your Original Atari as a kid in 70-80's?
kondre replied to Kenwood's topic in Atari 2600
mine was the Sears system, and I still have it, mint, I use my 7800 now instead -
If there is a cart that has 95% of the label gone, where can one get a replacement? moonpatrol needs a new end lable on mine

I have it, I had it boxed with instructions even. now i just have the cart. I got it, free, it was in a box of games that was given to me. in that box was also Qbert's Cubes. I dont have that cart anymore though.

after going to their site, i found the pro wheel. this one looks more interesting than the one you mentioned. now there is a hand held steering wheel out for the xbox and GC. i have been waiting for a hand held wheel to show up for a long time. I have R/C style hand held wheels for my PC and love them. i cant stand the full size wheels, they are too big for my desk. although its not a R/C style, if it works well, this could be the factor that makes me purchase an xbox finally. I cant seem to get used to driving a car with analog sticks, just not right.

Im finally going to get one of the "big Three'.....
kondre replied to JankenTheGreat's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
get a used xbox and use the saved money on getting used games. I want an xbox and a GC, but right now the money situation only lets me get one. and i am going with the GC since my neighbor's son is going to sell me his for $70. the GC will play rouge leader, the xbox will play my driving games...thats all i play now a days, SW and driving. -
i just joined up, but i dont like yahoo groups, i joined a yahoo group for the IBM thinkpad users and all of a sudden i was getting 75 emails per day and they were that MS update virus email. so i changed my email address and when i signed up for your group i told yahoo to use the yahoo email address that it creates when you join...but i have no intention of checking it, so if you send emails out to your users, i wont ever get it. so, where are you located? I'm in springfield, VT

I have them, i like them better than the prolines, but the button placement on the joypad is not quite right, i wish they were on an angle a bit, the button on the right being up around 2 oclock from the left button, it would make using much more comfortable for me.

Well, I guess, I suppose I could re-phrase my question then, many of you are asking if there is any difference in the versions of the games...and i guess that is my root question. I dont really care about a 5 sec load time difference, if the game play is fun who cares...but Lets say I want to get NFS HP II....will the GC version look worse than the xbox version? I cant say that I will be getting many games for any modern console...I already have rouge leader and am looking forward to rouge leader II, other than that, i would be interested in FIFA soccer 2003 and driving games, such as NFS HP II and burnout II. I really like rally car racing games and the xbox seems to have the best one out there for consoles. also i played a demo of mid town maddness today and that was a lot of fun i must admit. plus project gotham racing interest me. So i suppose now that i read my whole speal here, my root question is this... Is it worth it to get the GC just for playing the two rouge leader games and then an xbox for the soccer and car racing games? or will the GC have car racing games that will satisfy me on its own? I also need to figure out the deal with the controllers, honestly i am not too crazy about the GC conrollers, they feel a bit cramped and small in my hands, the xbox one seems to be nicer, the sony one, i couldnt stand after 2 minutes at the store. thanks

Is there a place where i can get a review of a game, such as NFS HP II, but the review doesnt talk about the game, but how the game differs from the console? I am going to get a GC, only for the rouge leader games, but if i can get reviews on how other games stack up against the xbox version, i will just get them for the GC as well. Second, the xbox has ralliSport Challange, is there any rally games for the GC? if so, how good are they? Thanks Kevin

If you get that game to Cart form, I will be in line to get one.

One more review i havent seen yet, Jimmy Conner's Tennis... great graphics, game play is not for the casual gamer though, more coordination is required when comparing it to the 2600 Activision tennis game. I find myself struggling with JCT. but i also dont play it as much as one should i suppose. the fact that i am not a major tennis fan probably plays in that more than not. 7/10

A review i havent seen yet is one on Asteriods/Missile command... I have this cart, and honestly i find both games enjoyable, although not completly true to the arcade versions, which would have made this cart an ablsolute must have, they are still enjoyable. We all know the games, so i am not going to go in and do a description, i just want to make a note that they are enjoyable versions of the games 7/10 for the combined score

joust, mrs pacman, definatly are better. i would agree that xevious is a better game on the 7800 than NES.

I just purchased a IBM TP 760 133mhz machine bought soley for running win98 and my older games. here are the ones installed: Need For Speed I - good driving arcade game Indy Car Racing II - great car racing game more realistic than NFS 3D table sports - a rare game but it has an air hockey game in it that cant be beat The NeverHood - super puzzle/RPG game done in claymation Descent I - we all know this one Lords of the Realm II - great turn based and real time strategy game Out of this world - super game from 1995 with good graphics for its time Full Throttle - excellent RPG Flight Unlimited - I only have the demo installed, but its enough because it has the best plane and the location is Springfield, VT - my home town! Prince of Persia I and II - every classic gaming machine needs these AppleWin - Apple IIe emulator Mame 32 with selected classic games Hasbro Atari Arcade Hits #1 - again any computer should have this installed Xwing - great old Star Wars simulator So there you go these are the games that should be installed, dont have one of these? I could find you a copy if need be.

How come you don't own a PS2? (Why?)
kondre replied to RCmodeler's topic in Modern Gaming Discussion
I dont own any of the new generation consoles. I want a GC only for the Star Wars games, infact i already own rouge Leader, and when the next one comes out, i will want it too. I couldnt decide which of the new consoles to get, so i got none of them. xbox seems to be the best for eye candy, but the library seems low. sony's library is huge, but shallow, GC, the only games here i like are the starwars ones. the PS2 interested me when i saw a pic of Linux running on it. that sparked some interest...a console and web brouser on my TV thats pretty good, thats what i have now with my PC hooked up to the TV. But here is the huge thing, I like driving games, but I hate the huge steering wheels they have out there, I have a hand held wheel controller for my PC from interact and it rocks, I wish someone made a controller like that for the modern consoles. i just cant get over the idea of steering a car with a thumb activated analog stick. So here's my reason: no hand held wheel controller. so i will use my PC for driving games and get a GC for the rouge leader games. PS2 wont be in my house because of that. -
Apple IIe is where i started my computing life, well, vic 20 really, but I never touched it again once the IIe arrived. Wings of Fury was played all day long, i so wish someone would do a new release of it, just inmpoved graphics, if they changed the gameplay i would shoot them. once one downloads the dsk image of games for the IIe, how does one get them unpacked and put onto 51/4 floppies? I am thinking of getting a IIgs, I know where i can get a IIe, but if the IIgs can run IIe games, i'd rather have that machine. another question, the old apple joystick, that has the two orange buttons, will that work on the IIgs? Anyone ever thought of getting that old apple joystick to work with current computers? that would be great, I like that controller a lot, and still like it more than say my saitec cyborg, the current controllers are just too big and bulky, the old apple IIe controller was just the right size to hold in your hand, with the thumb right on the top of the stick. I found a great IIe emulator for OSX, its awsome.

Rogue Leader is the reason why i will get a GC. I already have the game, I have yet to get the GC. i have the Rogue Squadren for the PC, its good as well, I imagine the Rogue Leader will be on par as far as graphics. Rogue Leader 2 will be nothing short of increadable i imagine.
